Being in an Italian family from New Jersey, I can be pretty picky when it comes to Italian food, but I must say, RigaTony’s does not disappoint!First, I love the vibe! It just feels like a family owned Italian restaurant from the moment you enter, and the staff is incredibly nice as well! The antipasto salad and bread that you receive before your meal are delicious, and so is the rest of the food!I’ve tried the Four Cheese Penne, Baked RigaTony and Sea Shells, and they’ve all been delicious! The Baked RigaTony is my favorite. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian restaurant in the Valley, check out RigaTony’s! My husband and I will certainly be back! violet-and-vine.com
Tia is my absolute favorite Italian Restaurant Food is always great. And service is amazing. Our friends that we have introduced to Rigatonys all love it as well.
Super Great Italian. I dine here at least 3 times a week and usually at lunch. I have yet to have a bad meal here. The service is always excellent, though my co workers and I do request the same server each time. You literally cannot eat at jack in the box for less money, if you go for the lunch special. They also have a frequent diner program that is very generous. The salad is delicious (and filling) and the bread is home made. I am seriously hesitant to even write this, as I don’t want it any more packed than it usually is.
Delicious Italian Food, Great Atmosphere!. Following a long day of shopping for a homecoming dress, my boyfriend and I were absolutely famished and were both in the mood for some authentic Italian food. After looking online for suggested restaurants, we found a place in nearby Tempe called Rigatonys. It seemed like a nice enough place so we decided to see if it appealed to our taste buds as much as the reviews claimed. When we arrived we were already tantalized by the scents wafting from the building. It was obviously a popular place, what with all the people standing about waiting for food. When we got inside there was a definite Italian air. The walls were covered in interesting tidbits and themed paintings, and the decor an inviting combination of greens, whites and reds. They also had various knick-knacks and novelties for sale in the waiting area. We were shocked at how fast the service was; they obviously knew how to run a packed restaurant. We were at our table in under 10 minutes! Once we sat down we were greeted by a very friendly waitress who served us a platter of warm, wonderfully-crafted bread alongside a delicious preparation of olive oil and herbs while we browsed our menus. Being timid to try new things, I decided to just order spaghetti. My boyfriend, on the other hand, decided on the Penne Rosa with Sausage. We chatted for a short time, enjoying our drinks and the appetizing atmosphere while we waited for our food. When our food arrived we were surprised at just how large the portions actually were. My boyfriends dish was delicious (I tried a bit) and my seemingly sublime spaghetti was enhanced to a point that I did not think possible with something so simple. In the end we were unable finish our meals, so our waitress kindly packed up our leftovers. Still curious to try some dessert though, so we ordered two cannolis, which were very light and sweet. The chilled filling was a nice refreshing end to our stay. Altogether we only spent about $30, proving that you can get delicious Italian food without emptying your wallet. We will definitely be returning customers to Rigatonys. 🙂
Can’t wait to go back for great Italian fare. First thing to know at this restaurant is lunch time is a zoo and you will have to wait or bar area seating Be there at 11 and there is always tables. I’m a Chicken Picatta fan but the lasagna is to die for. Fresh bread is crusty on the outside and hot and moist since it just came out of the oven. Their house salad has black olives, pepperoncini, red onions, tomato, crispy lettuce and lots of sliced salami with a tasty Italian dressing. A different lunch special every day so check their website to see the menu. They closed their Mesa restaurant over 5 years ago. I was broken hearted as my colleagues and I would go there once or twice a week. I used to drop by for evening fried calamari and warm Sambuca. Needless to say, I rediscovered Riga Tony’s last week and have been there twice. Great Food, Terrific Service and Great Value. I’m a satiated full ducky boy (;>]
Ehhhhh. Tastes like Italian for people who don’t know Italian. Sauce tastes canned. Ricotta is chalky. Chicken was dry, bland. Not like homemade that’s foe sure.
Ho-Hum Italian. Food is not as good as some other Italian style chain restaurants. And definitely not as good as the Italian family run places in Tempe. There are much better places to eat in the same area of Tempe.
