Good service. Nice surroundings. Found the food to be overdescribed on the menu for what it acctually was. The food is fine but nothing special and a bit pricy. I am not a vegetarian but have been blown away by the flavors and quality of some vegetarian restraunts…..this place is definately not raising the bar, just ok.
I was really excited about Chocola Tree, it looked really good with a vegetarian/vegan menu and raw desserts.Unfortunately My dad and I had a disappointing dining experience. Our appetizer was okay, guacamole, pico de gallo, and hummus, but everything else was not good. My dad ordered a vegan saag paneer, the spinach tasted like it had been cooked and reheated and the basmati rice was undercooked. I had the veggie burger. My god. I have made over 8 different kinds of veggie burgers and eaten dozens of different brands and restaurants veggie burgers and none of them were even close to being this bad. It had the taste and texture of mud, with no flavor from anything that was on or in it. I was so disappointed because I love veggie burgers, but it just had no redeeming qualities. We hoped that the raw desserts might be better than dinner, but we were wrong.I ordered a chocolate ganache and my dad the lemon pie. There was almost no flavor to the ganache, save the crust, and the lemon pie and a gritty texture and was an unsatisfying end to an unpleasant meal.In good conscience I cannot recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful outdoor patio, but I was eaten alive by bugs. The menu was clearly healthy, but just too weird for me to enjoy my meal. However, my sister ordered the chili with guac and pico de gallo, plus the green mountain ginger lemonade with wheatgrass and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Our coffee came out with floaters, it wasn’t hot and the cups were stained. But the service was kind, fast and friendly. Just not my gig!
This place was the most peaceful serene atmosphere to eat some deliciously healthy food. The wait staff was extremely pleasant and did a fantastic job serving. I would highly recommend to anyone regardless whether they are vegan or vegetarian etc.
Delicious food. Our favorite place in Sedona. We were trying to talk the owner into opening a franchise in New York City so we can continue to enjoy their food when we’re home! And we are not vegetarians, we just appreciate good and healthy food. Beautiful setting in the back too. Highly recommend!
Just Wonderful. We recently visited ChocolaTree and experienced their wonderful cuisines.Ambiance was fun and relaxed and staff was very friendly and attentive. We shared a Potato Soup, my daughter loved her Black Bean Chili and Ginger Lemonade, my wife raved about the Mushroom Fantasy and I devoured my Sedona 2012. All wonderful and delicious. However, I am still haunted by the Lemon Creme Pie and Coconut Creme Pie. They were exemplary adjective after exemplary adjective delightful, wonderful and I want more.OH!!! For ten (10) minutes my daughter scrutinized the cooler case of little individual chocolate. She selected a half-dozen. We all shared tiny bites and smiled. She exclaimed that they are better than chocolates that she sampled in Belgium. And ever so pretty.Namaste,
Service – Thumbs down!!!. In many ways I loved this place and would visit it every time I come to Sedona. However, on my most recent visit, the tall curly dark haired guy working behind the cash register (2PM July 20th 2013) has got to be one of the most unhelpful and completely unfriendly servers I have experienced. For me, the quality of the staff can make or break a place. After my experience of him I have no desire to go back. Which is sad… because in many ways its a great cafe. He should seriously consider something other than the service industry when it comes to his profession!
