Very Slow Service. I took my son and my father-in-law out to Asian Star last night. I guess they were changing the fryer oil or something. I think that is what the server told us after 50 minutes of waiting for the food to arrive. I wish she would have let us know that before my father-in-law ordered sweet and sour pork because it took over an hour for his food to arrive at the table. This is far too long to wait for a midweek dinner. What’s worse is that everyone around us including the people who arrived after us were enjoying their dinner while we waited at an empty table.
Eclectic mix of Asian cuisine. A mild upscale surrounding. Fresh ingridiants, food varies from average to excellent in imagination and preparation, depending on the dish. Good sushi but the best dish is the Thai basil shrimp.
Best Asian Food in Town. Asian Star has spoiled me because I feel they have the best Asian food in town. The service is quick and you will rarely see an open table. The locals know this is one of the best places to dine for Asian cuisine. I love the diversity on the menu and quality of food. Also probably my favorite spot to celebrate Chinese New Year!
Limited menu. Not my favorite Asian restaurant, but for Yuma pretty good. The service is so gracious, lovely stone tea pots instead of those horrid metal things with the ill fitting lids you see most places. The servers all have their trays covered with crisp pink napkins, presentation is fantastic. We enjoyed our food; but I wish the menu offered more selections that enabled us to choose several of our favorites for our meal, instead of just one thing accompanied only by a bowl of rice. We enjoy the combination plates we get other places, and the offering of soup, and other appetizers as part of the meal. We would go back, but not a place we will rush to.
Yummy. I’ve been there several times and I’ve always gotten what I’ve asked for and the service has been awesome. I even got a free slice of cheese cake once which is by the way delicious! I never order any of their special sushi rolls because I like the basics, someone here complained about a roll having too many deep fried ingredients but you know the rolls come with descriptions. The eel roll is definitely my favorite its simple and delicious.
Nasty smell, poor customer service, they don’t know how to apologize to their customers. I used to go their every week now NO MORE ASIAN STAR
