I wanted to like Blue. The casual atmosphere, outside tables and fish market seemed like a recipe for a great seafood place but the food just isnt good. You can usually tell from the pictures if negative reviews are on point or not, not so here. The pictures actually look great but the fried items were greasy, the fish mediocre, the sushi bad and the lobster bisque atrocious. The only good thing being an attentive server that noticed I didnt eat the bisque and removed it from the bill. Im taking the rare step of not posting pictures since they misleadingly look good. Honestly not one item, not the hushpuppies, pineapple slaw, rice pilaf, nothing was good enough to recommend or even try again. Why they were somewhat busy I cant fathom.

Blu fish catered to Sassafras Winery in Springdale last night. The salad was delish, but the parmesean crusted haddock was over done, tough and served cold. I was very disappointed in the dinner. I haven’t tried them at their location and don’t think I will based on the food from last night. This review is based on their catering.

I love seafood. If you’ve read many of my reviews then you know I’m practically obsessed with oysters on the half shell. I was told by several people to check this place out. So we did. Now to start with, we were greeted by a manager when we first walked in and it felt like it was going to be a very positive experience. Then a young man asked us to follow him to our table. He took us in and out between tables instead of around them (it was too tight even for him!) when we could have just went around and not bothered anyone. So embarrassing. But that could be overlooked. It took over ten minutes for a waitress to stop, give us menus and ask what we’d like to drink. They weren’t even busy yet. We told her what we wanted to drink and even asked for an order of oysters on the half shell to start with. She disappeared and we didn’t see the drinks for another fifteen minutes. We were ready to order at that point but she didn’t give us time, just put the drinks down and took off. Ten minutes later the oysters arrived. My man asked for horseradish and she just stood there and stared at him for a long moment. We took the opportunity to order which made her frown. She hurried away again. The oysters were finished, the drinks were empty and it had been almost half an hour when we received our meal. Red snapper. The moment we cut a piece to bite it had a terrible odor. I don’t mean fishy. I mean stench. I love fish so I know how it’s supposed to smell. I loved the pineapple slaw, the salad was okay too. However, that fish…She stopped and looked at our plates which were empty except the big fish lying there on each plate. Now most waitresses would ask if there was a problem. She simply asked if we still wanted tartar sauce which my man had requested with the order and she had forgotten. He said no thank you, please bring us the check. Without another word she hurried off and about ten minutes later we had the check. We will never go back. Bad service, bad food. Sorry but there was no excuse for any of that. We are very patient and always make excuses. That was too much.

Very unique place for NWA. Cool environment and the fresh fish is fantastic. Have been 3 times in the last 2 weeks and I have yet to have a bad meal. Sides are fresh and flavorful. Sushi is some of the best I’ve had anywhere!

Atmosphere is very laid back. Food is good. Steamed mussels were a big portion and yummy. Their lobster bisque is broth based vs. cream and packed full of lobster. I’d forgo the bread bowl and just go for the bowl. Kids potions are huge. The kids fish sticks were freshly made and yummy.
