Visitors from out of state must wonder about the fascination Arkansas has with the number 11 — not only is it in the name of a Little Rock flagship restaurant (One Eleven at the Capital), it is the name of the restaurant in the top edifice of art in our Natural State. The food at Eleven is museum quality — not the refreshment stand, concessionary of many art institutions but gorgeous, tempting food that aches to be photographed, especially during daylight hours in its airy, bridging expanse at the heart of Crystal Bridges. Fortunately for us all, the flavors do not disappoint, and this will be your most elegant experience with bread pudding and shrimp and grits, ever. Do mind the chairs, though. They’re… lightweight and do flip. Please do not ask me how I know this. tiedyetravels.com

Stunning location and architecture…. Not to mention the reflective light show dinner guests are treated to as night falls. For being a museum restaurant, this eatery over delivers atmosphere, service and food. Pork chop done to perfection and seasoned perfectly. Accommodated our strange ordering requests!

An enjoyable experience but there were some challenges. I am sad to say this was the first time I have eaten at Eleven. I have visited the museum numerous times, but because of forgetting to make reservations I hadn’t dined there. I owed my amazing daughter a nice dinner for maintaining a 4.0 GPA during her freshman year of college, so I made reservations and braved pouring rain for the mile drive. :)First of all, I really appreciate how the chef incorporates regional cuisine into the menu. I strongly suspect that if everybody made grits like Eleven does then the whole country would be eating them!We started off with the Jumbo Lump Crab, and it was good. All of the elements (mango creme, avocado, etc) tasted really great except the crab. It was so-so. I had the house Riesling and enjoyed it. My daughter had a cup of cauliflower soup that was divine. The bread, rolls, and bread-sticks with butter/honey butter were scrumptious as well.I had the Van Gogh to Rothko tasting menu and my daughter had the Ozark mushroom lasagna. The fattoush (a vegetable salad with buttermilk dressing and pita croutons) was tasty and light. My daughter’s lasagna was really good; the marinated mushrooms were delightful. The challenges I spoke of in the title came with the beef tenderloin. I ordered it medium rare, and my first cut into the center of the steak revealed that it was well-done with no hint of pink, let alone red. The server immediately noticed it and had another one prepared. She brought a cup of the cauliflower soup for me to enjoy while waiting. I was kind of glad because that soup is so good! I got the second steak and it was rare with no pink and all red in the center. I would much rather a good steak be too rare than otherwise, so I didn’t say anything. I can’t imagine the regular chef being the one who grilled it. The tenderloin was quite tasty with a good dark color to it and on a bed of the best grits I have ever eaten. I ate my entree with the house red wine and it paired very well. The final course was a creme brulee that is out of this world delicious, and the server was gracious to get me a cup of coffee to go with it. The final bill with gratuity was $120 and was worth it. If I had to rate the meal I would give the food a 6.5-7.0 and the service was a solid 10. The live music was very entertaining. I look forward to returning and trying out other items on the menu!

Coffee was awful. My group went to the museum on Saturday, June 28. We thought about having a meal but it was a busy time so we decided to just have coffee. I had a simple drip coffee and my companion had a cappuccino. She was appreciative of the artistic foam decoration on her cap but both of us were shocked by how bad the drinks were. My coffee and her cappuccino were on a par with McDonalds and not even as good as Starbucks, which I hate. But had there been a Starbucks nearby I would have gladly gone there instead. So after we left we went across town to have some of the best in the county, at least – Kennedy Coffee. Get with it, Walmart! If you’re going to put your name on a fancy art museum you need to do better than to offer drinks no better than what Walmart shoppers get at the Mini-McDonalds in your stores!

Nice food, great view.. We ate at Eleven for both lunch and dinner while visiting Crystal Bridges. At both meals, we got great service. Dinner was full on a Wednesday night, so make sure to make reservations. I highly recommend the steak dish for dinner. At medium, it was tender enough to cut with a fork and the sides were a perfect compliment.

Beautiful Setting & Good Food. Eleven is a restaurant inside Crystal Bridges. It’s best described as cafeteria meets upscale restaurant. You wait in a roped-off line to order. Our server was top notch and gave us great advice and instructions. Once you place your order, they will deliver it to your table. The platting is very well done. Our soup arrives with the number 11 laying on top in sour cream. Burgers have a large pickle setting on top. It looks cool. The food itself is good.Visit Eleven for the view and experience. It’s beautiful. It is pricey, so be prepared to pay a little bit for the view.
