We popped in after attending new HOWSE Retail Furniture Grand Opening for a cocktail and appetizers – Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes, moist lump crab w/roasted red pepper coulis, together with a plate of the Mediterranean Shrimp, marinated in aged balsamic vinegar & chilli oil and just had to have a half rack of RG’s succulent baby back ribs (fall off the bone, cooked to order & perfection). A couple of Cran-tini’s and a glass of Danzante Pinto Grigio rounded out an impromptu visit. The River Grille never seems to disappoint, thanks in large part to consistent gourmand offerings and as always consummate hostess and owner Brenda Swango.

Eh, its ok. Very nice place, love the decor and ambiance. The food is a bit over priced, I got the steak oscar, the crab was terrible and very fishy and my steak maddalions were super small for $42 but everyone else’s food in our party was great.

One of the best in NWA. We come here twice a week. We don’t do the whole dining meal experience, but the food is amazing. Our children love the chicken wings. I personally could live on the crab and shrimp dip. We celebrated New Years Eve here and all twelve of us were completely satisfied. It is worth the price. Great food, awesome service, exceptional atmosphere. It might be one of our favorite five restaurants in NWA.

This was the finest steak house in NWA, however they seem to be having problems in the kitchen. I come here 2 or 3 times a year, it’s my lucky Walmart dinner, tonight I ordered the $42 bone in rib eye steak, cooked medium. The waiter served a piece of meat that looked like a map of Italy cooked well done and a sliver of bone. I told him that it was the ugliest rib eye I had ever seen, he said try it and we will replace if you don’t like it. It was overcooked, well done with no sign of pink, and I waited for him to come back. I finished a baked potato, seasonal veggies, and glass of Syrah before he came back. I complained and he said he questioned it with the chef and the chef said to try and serve it. He would bring me a new one. A female manager that did not give her name came over and I complained to her about my disappointment. This nanager had been in a 20 minute discussion with some customers about getting side aches when she runs marathons. Eventually I was served a very nice, medium, rib eye. Another manager, Mike, came over and I told him how disappointed I was and he offered to comp the steak. He made a good effort and sounded sincere so I will give River Grill another chance. But with only 5 tables filled this place needs to seriously evaluate their cooking staff, it’s not like it was a couple years ago.

Not the best…. It used to be better, but it’s still good. A little pricey so if I was going to spend the money I prefer Ruth’s Chris. Mister B’s is good, too, but Ruth’s Chris in Rogers is hard to beat on quality.

Not fine dining. River Grille Steakhouse has the fine dining price, but not the food to go with it. My husband and I both ordered duck. The duck was supposed to be two duck breasts cooked medium rare, according to the menu. What we received was one skinless duck breast and one leg. The risotto was somewhat mushy and the duck leg was very rare, almost raw. The seasoning was lacking and the skin on the leg was not crispy. The duck was improperly prepared. I love duck, but this duck was bad. Don’t order the duck. Others in our party had steak. A single steak on a white plate was served with one cherry tomato. Since the waitress warned us that the steak comes with no sides, it was not totally unexpected, but the plating was simply bad. It was ugly and bad. The steak was cooked fine. The service was good, except for not warning us that the chef deviates from the menu. The bartender was very good. We ate at Basil’s the previous night and the plating and food was much much better and worthy of the fine dining label. River Grille Steakhouse is not worthy of the fine dining label.

Extremely Salty Steak. Great service in the bar area. But seriously – I ordered the 12 oz ribeye. Perfectly cooked. But I have never had a steak this salty, and I like salt.
