Julie worked at Ed’s Custom Bakery for a very long time, but now she has her own place to shine. You’ll find less frou-frou cakes here. There’s a bigger emphasis on edibles across the spectrum, and this is Conway’s best place for pimento cheese. tiedyetravels.com
Never again. Me and my husband got our wedding cake from there and was not impressed. The cake came late, the cake looked HORRIBLE , the top of the cake was supposed to be an ombre color and they only made it into one color, the second tier wasn’t leveled right so it looked like the cake was going to fall over and the lettering was sloppy. When they also did our wedding shower cake it also looked like it was being rushed. The wedding cake was over 400 dollars and i definitely dont think it was worth it. Oh yeah and they didn’t even give us a box to put the top tier in. I would not recommend going there for a wedding cake !
Sweet People. I just love the people there! They’re all nice and the food is great especially the honey buns and their soup. The 7 layer dip is delicious would have been better if I was given some chips to go with it.
Awful customer service. Very disappointed – i went in to ask questions regarding a shower cake was blown off the girl at the counter said we have lots of cakes and pointed to the wedding cakes on top of the counter and started talking to another customer.
Sweet but Bland. Not really impressed. The food was bland however it is sweet. The apple fried pie filling was straight out of the can. The bacon wrap was a biscuit dough wrapped with one piece of very thing bacon drizzled with a maple sauce. The canoli was not fresh. It was hard and tasteless.
Tasted Good to Me. Julie named the place right. She knows her sweets! I have eaten there a few times and never had a complaint. Yes the place can get busy but, what do you expect when the pastries are so delicious?I definitely recommend Julie’s Sweet Shoppe to anyone that loves baked stuff. The selection is amazing. There are a lot of unique pastries there as well. Try the fried pies, they are scrumptious.
Nothing to write home about. Went here a couple weeks ago for breakfast, didn’t really know what to expect when I was walking in. It was very very loud in there, and it seemed like every table in the place had been pushed together for the three or four large groups of people dining in. We marched up to the counter where there were two employees talking about someone divorce. We looked over the cases while basically being ignored by the two gossipers. There were two other ladies running around back there manning the drive thru window. After a couple minutes we had to interrupt the gossip to order. One of them helped us and the other stood back ignoring the guy in line behind us. We got a variety of things to try, fried pies, filled doughnut, kolaches. We checked out and barely got two words out of the girl behind the counter. The pie filling was good, the crust was entirely too sweet. It also did not taste fresh at all. The filled doughnut was also okay, not fresh. The kolaches were refrigerated cold, which is not a good way to eat them. It was okay, nothing worth writing home about. The only reason I would go back is to try a couple of unusual things they had (one was a bacon wrapped doughnut). Other than that, I won’t make a habit of going to this place.Edit to add: went back a second time. Was still busy, but we were helped right away. While we were being helped, there were 3 employees bad mouthing a customer who had been there earlier. I got another fried pie, bacon wrapped donut, and a couple other things. The fried pie crust was much better this time, but I asked for apple and they gave me peach, and it don’t like sweet peaches so I couldn’t finish it. The bacon donut was decent, would have been way better if it was warm. I was really hoping for a place to get a good fried pie, but I will not be going there again. I will get a hot fresh fried pie from the new catfish place down the road.
