The best Cajun food you’re going to find north of Louisiana. Everything you might want including oysters and crawfish (when in season), po-boys, gumbo, etc. It can get a little expensive but it is definitely worth it.
Kayla BaucumDear owners, It is my daughter’s birthday, and both sets of grandparents drove into Fayetteville from out of town to celebrate. We had been wanting to take them to your restaurant; especially since we have all lived in the New Orleans area. We finally went tonight for dinner. We had a party of 8. Half of the restaurant was empty. Your hostess refused to seat us because she said it would be too congested. She said they could not push two of the tables together. Is this some sort of fire hazard policy? Or were your employees just being lazy? I am still in shock that they turned away that many people when you weren’t even packed on a Saturday evening at 6:45pm.Just now
Cafe Rue is a unique restaurant in Fayetteville. Thank GOD someone created this place, because they saved everyone in NWA a 600 mile drive south. The fried po’boys, touffe, gumbo, fried green tomatoes, and baked mac&cheese are all delicious. Even the french fries are amazing. They serve brunch on Sunday, which seems to have a cult following (cough cough ::the shag:: cough cough). Everything I’ve tasted has been above par.The atmosphere is capitalized by a beautiful view of Old Main and the University. This place really has it all. Cool place for a first date, or a hung over sunday morning. If you are a student at the university or a resident of NWA, you should give Cafe Rue Orleans a try!
This place is great! I’ve been wanting to try for a while and finally stopped in for brunch. The food was delicious! I was with a big group so we waited for quite a bit but it was well worth it. It gets PACKED on Sunday’s for brunch, like as soon as the doors are open, but their brunch menu is totally worth it. I definitely recommend this place, it’s just small so you may have to prepare for a wait.
Really was unimpressed with the food. Service was lovely, but the food was underwhelming. It didn’t seem fresh and the quantity of seafood was lacking. Honestly sad that I spent the money.
Service was very slow. The gumbo was so salty we had to return it. The crawfish touffe was not good. Hardly any crawfish. Won’t return.
Bland. I have eaten in places all over the world; hole in the wall places to 5 star places so experienced diner. The crawfish touffe dish at $18.99 was such a meager portion we thought we got the $13.99 size. A handful of crawfish tossed in bland tomato bisk type sauce and a small scoop of bland white rice. That is not New Orleans cooking. Note: we were 2 female diners who don’t eat that much so iI felt ripped off at $21 with tax. (I had water)The so called French bread was the cheapest low quality bread I have experienced. There are many restaurants within a mile that serve twice the quality and content at half the priceOh and the 50’s music, not New Orleans music????A lot of black pepper helped but overall it was a depressing experience. The decor is old and shabby. Half dead plants and birc a brac that looked like it had been there for 30 years. Old dirty, cheap ceiling fans. A lattice panel barely covering the serive area with boxes stacked up. The waitress was the ho-hum type that looked like she’d rather be sleeping.
