I stopped by on a weekday just looking for quick breakfast – it was hard to choose but got the classic – was delicious! Definitely want to come back and try all of the combinations!
This is one of our staples on the weekends. It’s an amazing little bakery that’s owned by some of the nicest guys you will ever meet! They are always smiling even when the lines out the door, it’s easy to see they love what they do… Which makes the simple yet incredibly good Golden Kolache Bakery even better! Everything is homemade… The bread is fresh, fluffy and is made with good quality ingredients. They don’t take any shortcuts which is one of the reasons you have to get to the shop early- especially on game day. Or call in your order- they are usually sold out of everything by 10 on a Saturday. The fillings are everything from traditional with sausage and cheese or if you want to try something new- go with the artichoke spinach which is delish! By a land slide my heart and love goes to their sausage and gravy kolache. They are so good! My husband is hopeful they will bring back the corned beef and sauerkraut…yep he says it’s amazing! However his second fav is the ham and cheese or bacon and cheese. We love these guys and this business! The sweetest people in town… They even do their own sign waiving outside, that’s right these wiser gentleman go out to the curb and hold signs to attract more business, how do you not love that?
Great place to buy kolaches. Don’t be put off by the drive up. Just go in and buy something (or everything). The Ranchero is not for wimps.
Best Sour dough on the planet!. I had spent the entire day in Eureka Springs looking for a good loaf of homemade bread but was unsuccessful. Stopped at the Golden Kolache Bakery at the last minute while passing by and found the softest and most delicious loaf of Sour dough. The wonderful man that served us gave me some tips for this bread, he suggested it would make very delicious french toast and he was RIGHT!! He also warmed up a bacon and cheese kolache for my daughter and I to try and it was also delicious!! I would recommend this bakery for its service, price, and delicious food!
Best Kolache Ever. Being from Texas, I’ve eaten my fair share of kolaches over the years, and I must attest the Golden Kolache Bakery makes one delicious kolache. I ordered the sausage cheese jalapeno – it had the perfect ratio of ingedients to dough, which was light and fluffy with just the right amount of chewiness. The sausage was juicy and the jalapenos had jusy enough zing to make one tasty snack. As a recent transplant to the NWA, I imagine I’ll be visiting this place on a weekly basis.
Taste of Heaven. In Texas, kolache places are on every block, but here in NWA, we couldnt find a one. The donut shop lady looked at us like we were in the wrong country and wound up making us a pig in the blanket. Sooo not what we wanted! Then I found these guys and bam.. a flavor punch in my mouth that I havent felt in 3 years since leaving Houston. The owner is soooo friendly… Texas friendly! I highly recommend this place.
Sweet and Savory Pastries are AMAZING. I have tried Kolaches from several bakeries in a couple different states, and this is the best I’ve had so far! A couple weeks ago I came in on a Wednesday morning to pick up a bunch of pastries for a work event. They were so helpful and mentioned that if I called ahead next time, they’d have everything packaged and ready to go for me! Definitely going to do that. The sausage kolaches are delicious and I could eat a whole bunch of the pecan and strawberry pastries! They have a small (two table?) dining area and also serve coffee and milk, etc. and sell bread.
