Average chain Mexican food, and average chain Mexican food is pretty bad. Honestly we ended up here on Labor Day because we were having trouble finding anything open beside fast food. (I’m shocked a major college town was rolled up like a beachfront in January) Things began ok with decent chips and a forgettable but adequate salsa. From there we go downhill. The Choriqueso dip wasn’t very good. Watery cheese and bland chorizo made for a less than perfect appetizer. The entres continued the downward spiral. The promising sounding stuffed avocados were terrible, especially the chicken. The camarones al diablo were just a bit better. Nice shrimp ruined by a salty one note pasty seasoning. The guacamole, rice and beans were nothing short of dreadful. Our server was nice but got an order wrong. The meal was made somewhat uncomfortable by the hostess seating us by a large group they had wedged into a corner awkwardly. On the plus side, lunch prices were downright cheap, probably explaining the high ratings in a college town.

I grew up on this place, so I am biased. La Huerta is Mexican food to me. This place started the white cheese dip, I don’t care what anyone says. Chips and salsa are great as well. The service is annoyingly fast. The only sit down restaurant you can go at lunch hour and get out in 30 minutes. Everyone loves their margaritas. The price is right too. Some people would say the ground beef quality is just average, but I love it. Fajitas and Stevens Special are mass favorites.

I’ve been to La Huerta twice, once on Crossover and once on College. Visits were about 6 months apart. The salsa is perfect. Margaritas are quite good and fairly large (my boyfriend and I split one last time). Food is pretty good, not exceptional but definitely better than some other Mexican restaurants I’ve tried in Fayetteville.

This place USE to be great but my husband and I went Monday June 29,2015 and it was just absolutely terrible. The food was ok but the service, oh the service our waiter had the nastiest attitude the whole time and when we went to pay the cashier had just as nasty attitude as well I felt like everyone there just hated being there. very disappointed!

Me and my Husband went here tonight for the first time. I read all the reviews on here prior to going but figured I would try it regardless of what other said. When we first went in we noticed how unclean the place was. I tried to over look it and go on with my experience. We placed our orders as we were waiting for our food we had severs who didn’t speak any English on 3 different occasions bring food to our table that was not ours ! After that my husband for his entree and a few minutes later mine was brought to me – I had fajitas – well I had started opening my tortillas and a server came to my table looked at my plate and took it away from me! ( I guess they assumed it was the wrong order) which upset me because I could have eaten off that plate by then! As they gave it to another customer! Also it was the right entree they didn’t realize someone else had ordered the same thing. Me and my husband both specifically asked for no guacamole and of course we both had it on our plates . My plate was a hot plate and they left a Mit for the handle on my plate which I normally wouldn’t mind but it had old crusty food all over it ! We finish our food & went to pay – had to wait in line for about ten minutes before we could even pay for our meal. I almost just walked out. Needless to say I will not be back and my husband hated it even more than I did and I’m the lucky one lol. My food was good as I had the ghost pepper fajitas but my husbands was really disgusting honestly it didn’t even look appealing . I don’t recommend anyone try this Mexican restaraunt! Listen to the reviews lol as I should have as well!06 Dec, 2014Ghost Pepper Fajitas. Good if u like spicy

GROSS!. We like mexican food. We have tried nearly every mexican restuarant in NWA, this was by far the WORST!!! First of all, the server had a horrible time trying to get our order because he spoke no english! After the food came out he had only put in one order on enchiladas instead of the 2 we had requested. So my husband and i asked for another order. While he was putting in the order i tried a bite of the enchilada. It was beyond disgusting! I opened it up and it appeared to be white kraft shredded cheese that was not melted what so ever! I canceled my order and we paid our check and left…. we will never return!

Worst ever. I’ve been just about every Mexican restaurant in NWA, but this one is the worst. Bad service, really overpriced tea, and marginally acceptable food.I’m not going back to this restaurant – EVER!
