Not a Fan. This is my second Penguin Ed’s location. The decor and look of this place is very different from the one off School/College near Dickson. The look is clean and appealing. The servers are friendly and helpful. The follow-up and asking if you need anything happens multiple times after they deliver the food. The food itself is not good. The baked beans were not flavorful in a way to lift them up as worthy of a BBQ joint. The family fries were very greasy and oozed when touched. The chopped beef was bad. It came on white toasted bread. The meat had an odd greasy odor. I did not like it. I did not like my meat dish at the other Penguin location. I will not be back.
Delicious and I think their staff is very friendly. Can’t wait to go back!
This food is always good! Whether ribs which we buy (the $9.99 with 4 ribs) and the pulled pork, beef or chicken, the sides are always good – we’ll go back over and over.
Great Food. Another great Fayetteville spot is Penguin Ed’s. Way out West is a little newer than the other locations, and seems to be a little less busy, and it shows in the front of house staff, who on both our visits have seemed bored and not very happy. They were not overly rude, however, and they were prompt and polite when they brought our food out. The sweet tea was weak and not very sweet, but none of this matters…ok the sweet tea matters a little, but anyways:What matters is the delicious chicken, generous portions, good price and EXCELLENT sauce! I mixed some of the mild with some of the hot before I knew they had medium sauce, and they were all delicious! The loaded baked potatoes are phenom, with ample amounts of broccoli and bacon (although could’ve used a little bit more cheese for my tastes). The salads were huge and filling, and the smoked chicken is excellent!A great place for BBQ if you’re headed out to Lake Wedington, or need to pick up some BBQ for the fam.
Best BBQ in Town. Penguin Ed’s is the best!
