Disappointed. Tonight was a usual busy Friday night. We had about a 30 minute wait for our food to arrive. I ordered the John’s Double Cheeseburger and for a change decided to get a baked potato. Mind you I asked if there was a price difference since fries come with the burger at $7.99. Since the waitress said the price was the same I decided to go with less grease. However, the burger was so greasy I doubt my attempt at a somewhat healthier choice made any difference. The meat was charred yet swimming in grease and covered up with enough mustard for a dozen burgers. There was exactly 10 tiny pieces of onion not even the size of my little fingernail. (I thought I might have wandered into McDonalds at first). I guess to make up for the lack of onion they decided to put half a jar of pickles on the burger. YUCK. To add insult to injury the baked potato was $2.79. My grandson’s kid’s corndog meal with an extra corndog came to $8. I hate to complain but I did tonight. Won’t be going back. I’m more DONE than the charred burger. Total bill was $32. Save your money and eat at home.

All of George’s burgers and gyros come with more fries than you are ever going to need. Which is good, since the burgers are sorta hit or miss. But if you’re looking for a cheap gyro, George’s is the place. tiedyetravels.com

Fort Smith restaurant offers unique dining for loyal patrons. Restaurants come and go in Fort Smith all of the time, so when one is still going strong after 30+ years, it is worth celebrating. Despite the constant rotation of restaurants in Fort Smith, there are several restaurants that have lasted. One of the best is George’s Restaurant. This restaurant has been open since 1982, and has carved a niche in the Fort Smith dining scene. Owners Alex and George Catsavis have created a semi-casual place that offers delicious menu items at reasonable prices. That may sound very common, but there are a few things that makes George’s one of the most uncommon restaurants in Fort Smith. So what separates George’s from the rest of the pack? For one thing, they serve the best burgers in Fort Smith. These are not just the words of a food critic talking about his favorite restaurant. George’s recently won a Reader’s Choice Award in E! Fort Smith for Favorite Burger. The reason that they have that award is because a large percentage of Fort Smith loves the burgers at George’s. The second reason has to do with the international menu items that George’s features. Since the Catsavis brothers are of Greek descent, it is only natural that they would have Greek dishes on their menu. It is difficult to find Greek cuisine (much less good Greek cuisine) outside of major metropolitan areas, yet George’s serves these great dishes right here in Fort Smith. George’s serves five Greek dishes. They are1. Feta Burger2. Gyro3. Greek Salad4. Nick The Greek Wrap5. Warmack Spaghetti. All of these dishes played important roles in the lives of Alex and George. Now they have brought these dishes to their customers. The last thing that sets George’s apart is that one of the owners is presently giving back to his community by serving as a city director. In 2010 George Catsavis ran for and won the city director’s seat for Ward 4 in Fort Smith. George ran in order to prevent Fort Smith citizens from having to suffer under yet another city tax, and to help keep the local government from engaging in unnecessary spending. While many people may see George’s as just another restaurant, they are anything but ordinary. They offer award winning menu items, unique international dishes and strong values that many in Fort Smith share. If you have not tried George’s yet stop depriving yourself and come down to one of Fort Smith’s best restaurants.

Waste of money. The first time i had George’s i ordered 2 patty melts with gravy fries to go. Got the food home and ended up driving back to return it. The patty melt consisted of a small burned patty, and cheese. The white bread was burned too. Only thing good was the fries. Talked to the owner and he made it right and said just try us again. So today went in with my fiance and daughter and baby, ordered a mushroom and swiss burger, chicken fried chicken, Willams Mac and Cheese and gravy fries. The. Chicken was was a pre frozen bland and dry. The mushrooms were non existant on the burger, instead the overcooked patty was covered in a nasty canned gravy and the mac and cheese was out of a blue box. When i said something the waitress said she was sorry i assumed the mac and cheese was homemade and that mushrooms actually came on the named mushroom and swiss burger. I will not be back and i will tell everyone i know to stay away too.

Gyro Wrap. Horrible! I grew up outside Chicago where there were lots of Greek family owned diners. Moved to an area in Georgia where the only time you got a Gyro was at the fair. When we moved here, I was excited to learn about George’s. I can not believe these are even on the menu. Terrible, heated from frozen in the microwave, small! If I decide to try it again, I will definitly ask them to grill the meat for a while, sauce on side (way too much). Lots of fries, but no salt.

Wow!. How this place doesn’t have a rating of over 95% is beyond me. They prolly have the best burgers (Big George) and fries in town. We try to show up during a non-rush time because it gets very busy, crowded and noisy during the rush. We always bring our out of town friends here during visits and are never disappointed. Highly recommend this great restaurant! (wish they had coupons, we’d eat here twice a week!)
