Seafood Buffet is Wonderful. Staying at the hotel, we used our package of breakfast with the room. During the week: Ordering off the regular one-page menu, we had our choices for a cooked-to-order breakfast. The dollar amount allotted for breakfast was significant and over our stay we tried: pancake, omelette, grits, hash-browns, scrambled eggs, bacon, eggs over easy, and an apple Danish. Only the Danish failed to be impressive. The kitchen was not speedy, especially with the small number of people eating in the early morning. Our waiter and waitresses were nice. Yet we saw/heard one waitress who was quite verbal in telling one-table of her diners how worried she was about her mother since her father died. Pulling on their heartstrings. And making them somewhat uncomfortable. This happened two mornings during our stay. Fortunately she did not wait on us. We would return with the package, or just maybe head across the street to the Pancake Shop.During the weekend, the hot large and tasty breakfast buffet was served. This was hugely popular, and was a good value for the package price. The Friday night Seafood buffet, while pricey, was totally worth the price. Oysters on the half shell, peel and eat shrimp, crab legs, fish, fish, fish, sides, moist cakes and other desserts. We would return.
Out of prime riib, salmon and clean plates we we were seated at 2PM. Desserts were almost all gone and those that were left were from last week!!! Will not go back. To bad beautiful setting but bad food
Beautiful. This place is wonderful. Something from the past. Very nicely decorated. The food was not the greatest but the waiter was very nice and the experience was great. There is a dance each month on Sunday in the Crystal Ballroom with a Big Band that is really good. A very small admission price will allow you to kick up your heals and do a cha cha or rumba, etc.
I selected dislikes in my previous post, but it posted a like.21 Mar, 2011Terrible food! Wait staff not very professional. Husband ordered a NY Strip medium, came back with charred beyond chewing. Bakers pirate was burned as well. Had to order another steak. I ordered the chicken cordon blue and it was over cooked and dry. Steamed broccoli was tasteless too and I generally love steamed veggies. The only thing we enjoyed was the bread. The waiter did bring us out another steak to correct the first one which was better, but it lacked some seasoning. Definitely don’t recommend especially with the price.
Great for a hotel. Usually hotel food is awful, but this food is great!! The dining room is breath taking and the service was on point. Don’t neglect this little known secret in Hot Springs just because you aren’t staying at The Arlington. The Sunday brunch is the best in Hot Springs — a little pricey but well worth it.
Terrible Service, Expensive, and not very good food on their seafood buffet. I was with my folks for what I had been told was an excellent seafood buffet and at something like $30 a head before tax, you’d have thought that it should have been. Big disappointment, waited 20mins for a waiter to even come by and get our drink order and bring plates, and got fed-up and just told the ladies at the front of the house and then grabbed the tiny salad plates they had out and started getting food. Finally after about 30mins the waiter comes around and gets our drink order, and we asked him for the larger plates and he said he would get them, brought our drinks but not our plates. The food was bland and not held at anywhere near a proper temperature. Finally once he stopped again after about another 20mins he brought the plates, and refiled the drinks the first and only time. We paid and it took another 15mins to get our change. I’m told by people who used to go there every month that it used to be really good, but that they stopped going because it went down hill really fast.
