The avocado rolls are okay, but you really need to eat them quick. They’re not something that keeps. While delightful hot, once they get cold the avocado gets mushy and turns the consistency of baby food. Nothing against Bleu Monkey Grill — the product is excellent when it’s delivered piping hot to the table. tiedyetravels.com
I had a good experience with bleu monkey several times a girlfriend and I usually like to sit in the bar area. we went a few Friday’s ago for lunch there was a booth open by the bar.. we started walking to it and the bartender told us it would be about 10-15 minutes before she could wait on us.. we left! we gave it another try a week or two ago and the bartender messed up one of our orders and she started laughing about it… not sure what was funny about that? but thought it was very rude!!
This was one of my favorite restaurants in the area, but our last trip was a bizarre disappointment. The warm bread was cold, delivered as an afterthought long after our other appetizers had been finished. The monkey nachos were rather skimpy on their toppings. My burger was greasy and average at best. The most bizarre thing-our shrimp scampi was served with battered and fried shrimp! Since when? We’ve gotten it before with traditional sauteed shrimp. Noticed a table next to us got angel hair shrimp, also with breaded shrimp. It’s sad to have what used to be one of the best places around slowly sink into mediocrity.

The Bread & Pesto is AMAZING!. Had to write a second review because I saw a review under mine saying they didn’t care for the bread & Pesto. Have you got TASTEBUDS??!! I WAS FREAKING LICKING THE PLATE!!24 Feb, 2015I want to go back!!. So many things I want to go back and try! What I DID try was the Avacado Rolls (came with an absolutely delicious Thai peanut dipping sauce!!) and the Buffalo Bites (came with a delicious hot buffalo sauce and their blue cheese is the best!!) OMG!! My extremely picky husband got the Razorback Burger and he gave it a double thumbs up! It’s so big for the first time ever he couldn’t finish his food!
We liked a lot of the food served. Didn’t care for the bread and pesto. It was kind of a take on Carinos, but Bleu Monkey missed the bar. Enjoyed the mac and cheese balls, although a bit pricey for the amount served. Chicken strips and fries were good but I wasn’t a fan of the fish tacos, rice, and guac. Service was great and the total bill was reasonable. I wouldn’t mind returning but would try a new entree.29 Jan, 2015Mac and Cheese Balls. Yummy! Wish you got more than 5 for $8, but it was tasty.
