Pretty good for a Cracker Barrel. The food is very consistent, and not bad at all. Most of the staff members are very friendly, and you never have an empty drink glass.
Horrible food and service. I figured going to any country themed would guarente a good steak. I was wrong, I ordered the best cut on the menu and it was unseasoned and not marinated. They mistook medium for Rare the first go around and for Well done the second. On top of the 5 min wait at the hostesses desk where no one greeted us (but rather texted on their cell phone). Horrible food and horrible service. My kids wouldn’t even eat their favorite veggie complaining that it was drowned in sugar and butter.
Typical cracker barrel. I enjoy the candy and gift store more than the food.
I had dinner there last Friday night because I was not feeling well and wanted some veggie soup and roast beef. It was awful! The meat was slimy and fatty, the soup was tasteless and lukewarm, and I stopped eating my food a few bites in because it was so blech. The dinner was so greasy that I threw it all up a couple of hours later. I went to the cracker barrel website to let them know how terrible our food was and how I will not be returning to their restaurant to throw $30 away again, and I have not even had a manager respond to the complaint. Poor food from what I thought was a good chain, and even worse customer relations.
Sub-Par Visit to a Favorite Chain. Before Cracker Barrel ever came west of the Mississippi River, I used to plan my stops by the location of Cracker Barrels. I loved the chain. My last visit here in Hot Springs, however, on Sunday night was a bit of a disappointment. My chicken-fried chicken with gravy had lukewarm gravy, chicken not very flavorful, pinto beans and corn lacking much taste. My friend’s pancakes were somewhat cold as well. My wife’s trout was good, but she had to wait on it: the cook sent the wrong meal. The waitress was a delight, great on repartee! Maybe Sunday night is when the real cook is off???
Like Grandma Made at Home…… Okay….so this is a chain. Well, at least they have a consistent level of quality and service that makes it a great choice for a family restaurant. The country store area offers lots of fun toys, home items and old-fashioned candies which are sure to attract any devoted shopper. The menu items tend to be homestyle with an emphasis on being full….but the flavors are good and you will definitely never leave hungry.
Typical. This is a typical chain Cracker Barrel that delivers consistent food and service.
