Not pleasant. We sat there for 1 hour and 20 minutes before our food came. When it did arive it was not very good. The waitress tried to make the best of a bad situation. The manager on duty was a jerk. He was disrespectful to one of the lady in our group. His name was Greg. I hope some one reads this and he gets in trouble. Two employees at the hotel told me he had several complaints tonight. I would not recomended this place to anyone ever. Worst meal I have had in years!

Decent spot for breakfast. I usually stay at the Austin when I’m in the Springs because it’s convenient for work. They’ve had some recent storm damage and are in the process of making repairs. The restaurant looks a bit tired and is having some work done, but it could use a facelift. The service was very friendly and cheerful. Eggs and bacon and hasbrowns with onion were all done right and I had no complaints. There were a couple of buffet tables in the dining room, but they were not being used. I’m not sure if they do lunch or dinner buffets or if that’s for some other occasions.

Great Prime Rib. Although associated with the Austin Hotel, this restaurant is really quite good. My wife has tried the Sunday buffet a couple of times ($11.95 per person but with Senior Discount), and she like both visits.Recently, we tried the prime rib (special newspaper coupon of $17.95 for two), and it was very good. Flavor of prime rib beats KJ’s prime rib, my previous favorite. Tasty au jus, and mixed veggies had a unique taste. Baked potato completed the meal. Salad bar was so-so. Yeast biscuit (same one as at KJ’s) is probably Sysco product but quite good with butter.Very pleased with meal—gonna try it again this Saturday night after follow-up prime rib dinner at KJ’s. Will keep you posted on comparison. Anybody else have a good prime rib in Hot Springs?Lastly, our waitress, Heather, could not have been nicer. Ask for her—she’s worth it!
