Me my husband and daughter visited this place Saturday night. We walked in and it was crazy busy. I now understand why. Everything was excellent. From the time we walked in until the time we left, everything was impeccable. The hostess sat us right away, our server was well knowledge about everything on the menu and the food was delicious. I would recommend this place to everyone. Best steaks in hot springs.
Initial greeting and service were fine. It’s the food we wouldn’t go back for. The specialty porterhouse sandwich was too soggy because it was full of gravy, which wasn’t in its description on the menu. The meat in it was average. The rib eye was chewy and medium-rare was closer to rare. They should also get new menus (the book and plastic pages in it) because the ones they have are old and dirty and falling apart.
I ordered the filet a la Oscar with crab legs and garlic mashed potatoes…I’m really not sure what I actually got, but the crab legs were waaaaay overcooked and the steak was definitely not a filet in addition to being completely unseasoned. Mashed potatoes and bread were good but…at over $100 for 2 people this place was far from worth it. Very disappointing.
Excellent Steaks. Yes this place is expensive, but most restaurants downtown are. This was my first dining experience at Porterhouse and it was fantastic. Our party of 6 was seated promptly and our waiter was fantastic. The women in our party all ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and they loved it. The men each had steak and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. I ordered the Porterhouse – tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned.
Still in love. Our 1st year anniversary is next weekend. To this day people are still talking about our wedding day. The reception in particular. The amazing food, the ridiculously gorgeous setting, the wonderful staff… the list goes on. When we walked in the room I was in love. I was prepared for a fight if my (now) husband did not agree with me on the Porterhouse for the reception. Lucky for me he was just as in love. From the history and character to the European feel, it was perfect. The staff at the Porterhouse… There are no words. Penny was an angel. It is not just a job to her. She is creating memories that will last a lifetime and she knows that. Her staff was perfect. They took care of everything. Seriously. EVERYTHING. The reception ran so smoothly and every one was so friendly and genuinely happy to be there for us on our big day. Now for the food. I think that was my husband’s favorite part of our wedding. I’d be offended, but it is my favorite too. All year he has been talking about what he wants to order when we go back for our anniversary.
I don’t understand the bad reviews. We had amazing service and even better food. Our steaks were perfect! We will go back every time we are in Hot Springs!
