Very unique restaurant in Hot Springs. I had the El Plato Cubano, which was fresh and perfectly seasoned. This is really good Latin American cuisine.
I am not a fan of Latin cuisine, but this restaurant bent over backwards to accommodate me and my family. I had the Cuban sandwich and they even made fries. My husband enjoyed the tamales and the beans and rice dish. Very nice people!
Very good restaurant! I had the El Plato Cubano and found it to be beautifully presented and well balanced in flavor. This place has great prices as well. Also heard the outside dining was great.
A lady who worked the hotel front desk pointed us to this restaurant and I’m so glad she did. This was my first introduction to Ecuadorian cuisine and it definitely made a favorable impression. The menu is very vegetarian friendly, many of the options were vegetarian by default. The prices are a bit high, but I was extremely satisfied with my experience. The table salsa was interesting, because it included blacks beans and corn, which I’ve never seen at a restaurant. The guacatostada felt like an appetizer but was still delicious and filling. I would definitely recommend trying the guacamole, it’s so creamy and rich. The only problem we encountered was our waiter, he ghosted on us after bringing our entrees. We had to wait for a good amount of time before flagging down another server so we could pay and leave. However, it was probably the best meal we had in Hot Springs.
Cool atmosphere. Sit in the back patio if right season. Great setting, against a rock Clift face. All food was flavorful with their unique South American/Mexican style. Love the frozen margarita. Inside has a great feel.
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!! This place is awesome. The food is amazing. Service was great. The back deck is the place to be!!! Guacamole is so fresh and yummy. My dish had shrimp. I was concerned because we are so far from shore, but they were delicious. I might be back tomorrow. Waiter tom is fab.
There really isn’t another place like Rolando’s in Hot Springs. The flavors are South American, not south-of-the-border, and they include notes that challenge the palate. The Plata de Aventura is the best place to start and the best dish to share between two people, with a variety of everything from tamales and quesadillas to pickled onions and black beans. The Queso Fundido is a lovely melty cheese confection that barely meets the ideal of cheese dip in this state; not something you can easily put on a chip once it gets cold, consume it while it’s still bubbly. tiedyetravels.com
