You’re a crazy bonehead if you don’t love Taco Mama. my favorite restaurant of all time. everything I’ve had has been incredibly awesome. service is always good too. it’s a MUST VISIT! once you go, you’ll be hooked.
My headband and I just had an EXCELLANT experience!! I had the Tamales and he had the Chile Relano both has refried beans and rice. THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN HOT SPRINGS!!
I figured out why all the negative comments…it is a ruse to keep people away from a favorite…. I have heard of this restaurant for some time and finally three weeks ago, on a Saturday, I rode over from Little Rock with about 30 of my riding friends in the HOG chapter from Little Rock. I was warned that service might be a bit slow, but the food was supposed to be good.Well, here’s the real scoop. When we arrived, the restaurant was reasonably well full, but they put us all in the bar. Our service was top notch, and the food was delicious. My wife and I tried the Macho Nachos and the Queso Dip and both were great. My wife had Rosey’s Hand Rolled Tamales and I had the Griled Shrimp Tacos for our meal. Both were fantastic and again, service continued to be great. I know a couple of other entree’s that others had, the Puffy Tacos and the Chilaquilles and the people that had them loved them.With this experience under our belts, the wife and I decided to try them again yesterday, Friday after work. We arrived at about 5:30 and again, the restaurant was reasonably full with two large parties already there. Our waitress, Monica, who also seated us, came to our table and took our drink order immediately, then she also took our order for Nachos and Queso. When she brought the Queso, she asked if we were ready to order our meals and we did. My wife ordered the Quesadillas with chicken and again, I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Tacos…I love these.Our order came out promptly, but giving us time to eat most of the nachos and queso. Again, service was great and the food was excellent. The waitress came to our table several times to check and refill our drinks.When we got ready to leave, she asked if we wanted an dessert and we were not sure. She checked to make sure which desserts they still had in the pantry and we decided against any. She told us to wait one minute. She came back promptlyh with an order of Churros with Mexican Chocolate for us to try ON THE HOUSE.I finally figured out why there are so many negative comments. People love this place so they write a negative comment so the public will shy away from it in order for them to have easy access to it with no crown. Well, the secret is out. This place is fantastic, the service is great, the food is superior and my wife and I will be gong back and often.
Worst service I have ever experienced!!!. I have never written a review for a restaurant, but after tonight’s experience at Taco Mama I felt as though it was very necessary to warn others. We arrived at 5:55 pm for a 6 pm reservation and were seated. We finally received drinks at 6:15 after flagging down a waiter who said he didn’t know who had our table. Around 6:30 we had to flag someone else down to place our order. At 6:50 pm my mother-in-law flagged another person (who happened to be the owner) down because we had not received any drink refills since we first received our drinks at 6:15. She proceeded to inform him that we had been there for an hour and had yet to receive a refill or food. He walked back by our table at 7:05 and we informed him that we would only wait for 10 more minutes and then we were leaving due to the ridiculous wait. In the mean time, several of the tables around us had to cancel their orders or box it up immediately upon receipt and take it with them due to the extremely long wait. A couple of tables even got up and just walked out! We FINALLY received our food at 7:15 pm and it was ok…definitely not great! They kept trying to use the excuse that they had a large party, but we arrived at least 30 minutes before this large party. Also, when my mother-in-law booked our reservation at noon today, they already knew that they had a large party coming in at 6:30 pm, which is why we made our reservation for 6:00. It is also racing season in Hot Springs, so there is no excuse for any restaurant to not be prepared for a large crowd. To top it all off, the waitresses all got into a fight with each other right out in front of their already very disgruntled customers! This place definitely needs a TON of work before I will even consider returning! The ONLY good thing about this experience is that we did not have to pay for our meal, but that still didn’t make up for the horrible experience!
Horrible service. Food was good, but service was horrible! 3 out of 7 orders were incorrect and food was room temperature after originally packaged in to-go containers. Waitress was very inattentive and rude. While discussing her inappropriate comments with the manager, they did little to compensate and did not back their customers. Hate to see such great food ruined by horrible staff!
Nope not going back. Lots …. Nope not going back. Lots of these reviews say good food, bad service. I say mediocre food, terrible service. Won’t return. Sorry.
