I had a quick lunch here yesterday and for the most part it was average Mexican fare. A little sign indicated that the place has been in business for about 45 years and I always appreciate a restaurant with staying power. The dining area and kitchen were clean. You order at the counter and they call your number when it’s ready. I had the chicken enchilada plate which was pretty good, but smothered with a bit more cheese than necessary, in my opinion. The beans and rice were nondescript. The most exciting thing was the fresh salsa bar and I really liked their basic tomato/onion salsa that had a nice kick to it.
Great food, Fab Prices!. I had the combination burrito covered in cheese dip. My wife had a taco crisp. Came down to Hot Springs to visit family, paid less than $20.00 and loved it!!!! We will definitely be back!
Chalupas. Best chalupa a in hot springs love this place
Good tacos and cheese dip.
Diner Review. Today was my first experience eating at Taco Pronto and my last. I have never tasted Mexican food so bad I don’t even know where to begin. I guess I should begin with the microwaves. If I would have known that all they do is microwave the food I could have gotten a frozen dinner at the grocery store which I never eat but, I am sure it would have tasted better! My husband ordered a taco and an enchilada and after two bites could not eat anymore. I ordered the chicken taco salad, which mainly consists of lettuce and lots of cheese…melted in the microwave. Need I say how bad that was!! I have a hard time believing that people actually think that this is how food should be prepared and that this is how food should taste. Please, Taco Pronto close the doors and go out of business you are a disgrace!!!
Been going for 35 years now. I love it! But I do understand the people who don’t. It is nothing special, it’s Hot Springs’ little hole in the wall dive that moved to a new location. Nostalgia probably plays a big role in it, but the food is consistant unlike most other places around here, it always tastes the same, it’s good, not great. And I am a loyal fan. The staff?? They don’t realize a lot of us understand Spanish… In the old locations we didn’t see the kitchen so much, or hear it.I do miss the the days when the tacos had to be held over something because it dripped red from the meat not being drained of fat, they did change that…
Food Okay…Atmosphere Awful. We stopped in on a Sunday night as visitors to Hot Springs. We really like to try local restaurants and so it seemed perfect. We walked in and went right up to the counter to order. As soon as we saw the FOUR microwaves behind the counter…that should have been our tip off. After ordering we sat down and waited for our number to be called. As we looked around it just felt dirty, old and even the workers looked dirty but we figured we would just stay and pray we didn’t get sick. I ordered the chicken nachos and my husband ordered the chicken taco salad. The food looked good when we got it and the food even tasted okay but we were so turned off by everything else I think it just ruined our experience. We ate quickly and left. We were in and out in 20 minutes. We won’t be back.
