For the years we lived in JONESBORO this place consistently had the best BBQ and also worst customer service of any place in town. There is a 100% chance of excellent BBQ/ribs and a mean lady behind the counter. We used to go for lunch or get takeout consistently. Always the same good food and nasty attitude. If someone could match their food, I’d never go back.
My husband and I have BBQ every where we go, it’s our favorite cuisine. Last night we tried this restraunt for the first time. We both had a 2 meat combo- pork/brisket. The brisket was good… Not great, moist and a decent crust. The pulled pork, (which is what I order everywhere) was dry and flavorless. We both loaded up with the fairly generic sauce to get through it. Our sides were decent but not outstanding. The staff was just bordering on rude when taking our order, and we felt the food was overpriced for our quality of meal. All in all… We’ve had better BBQ from a wagon, definitely not going back.
Good pork sandwich but. Stay away from the fries. Should be thrown in jail for serving the dead/hollow 3-day old french fries we got.6-8 different orders and none any good. Pretty good sandwich, though…just order a different side.
Damn good chicken. My companion and I recently stopped in to get a quick bite and photographs. We had planned to just grab a quick snack and snap — but when that half a chicken was eased across the counter on that plate, I knew we had ourselves a sit-down meal.We were there right after the place had opened (and it smelled fabulous from the smoke) and took that plate and photographed it. Then we sat down and tried a little chicken. My my, what a delicacy. I liked it with the yellow-topped sauce that’s not really spicy or sweet but somewhat vinegary — and I liked it with the red-topped sauce that’s got both sweet and spicy to it. Nice! But best of all, the darker meat chicken was suck-off-the-bone good. The potato salad, by the way, was fantastic. The slaw was a little sweet (though not as sweet as KFC) and the tea was just spot-on. tiedyetravels.com
Cold. I ate at your new location last night. The pulled pork was great, as usual. HOWEVER, it was so cold in the restaurant it was hard to enjoy the food. And I don’t like having to wear a coat when I eat. A vestibule at the front of the building would deflect some of the cold air coming in. Also, purse hooks in the women’s bathroom would be nice.
New Smoke House Location. I love the new location. The inside looks awesome. I had the chopped brisket sandwich and loved it.I just wish they had a sweet BBQ sauce. I hope they don’t get offended next time when I bring my own 🙂
Very good sandwich and fries. This is self serve. U order at counter and take ur food to table. Get own drinks and clean up ur own table. Fast and friendly. Warning: none if the sauce bottles on the table are labels so its just luck if u pick the right one. I poured ketchup all over my sandwich
