We were excited about going to a place that claimed to be the home of the flying rolls. We quickly realized that this was not true. After waiting 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, a girl came by and set a few rolls in our bowls. The kids were pretty disappointed since I had told them to get ready to catch some flying rolls. When we finally did get our drinks, we placed our order and my wife’s chicken and dressing was cold. When I asked for more rolls for our dinner I was told they were out and wouldn’t be making anymore since it was so late. It was 7:30pm, prime time Friday night for any restaurant I’ve ever been to or worked at. I was truly disappointed in the service, the food and the atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone who values even a mediocre experience.
Used to be so much better, but still all right for breakfast. The older location felt more intimate. This one is more sterile. Needs more options and perhaps an upgrade on the menu. tiedyetravels.com
Not Lambert’s. This place seems to get worse every time we eat there , which is rarely. The last time I ate there I almost didn’t get a roll. They are extremely slowwith their pass -a-round food, which is supposed to be a key part of theirambience.
Meh – Nothing Memorable. Had a meal here with family from out-of-town. Good seating space, we weren’r crowded. Pass-arounds were limited to three different items (fried okra, beans, rolls), but they were offered frequently enough. Rolls were thrown to you, if you liked. The ordered meals were delivered after a bit of a wait, but nothing too extreme. Prices were fair. Food was fair. Service was nice.Go back? Maybe, if I was with a group who wanted to. Recommend it? Nope.
(After re-opening) We ate breakfast there. The kitcher & cooking has not changed, and that means not so good. The breakfasts we had were average. We also noticed how indifferent the service was from seating to wait service to checking out. We have moved F.P. DOWN on our list of J’bro restaurants.
Re-Opened. Front Page Cafe re-opened on August 24 after remodeling following the fire last winter. According to the article I read, it will serve the same homestyle menu with pass-arounds and thrown rolls for lunch and dinner as well as additions to the original menu.
