I really really loved this place when it was with the original owners. I’ve only eaten there twice since the new ones. It’s not horrible but it isn’t the same. I do love pretzel buns tho!
So disappointing. Having used to live in the downtown area, Godsey’s was a place friends and I would go regularly for great food, wonderful service, and a fun atmosphere. After hearing many horror stories after the new owner taking over we were reluctant to go back but we figured surely by now they have ironed out all the kinks. Boy were we wrong. Our food took over an hour for 2 entrees, I sat for 45 mins of that hour with an empty drink (which is my BIGGEST pet peeve). It makes me sad to say that Godsey’s is a thing of the past for my family and I. We will not be back.
Waiting an hour and counting for a hamburger. Maybe I’ll leave and try McDonald’s.
Small portions. Bland flavor. High prices.. I would not eat at Godseys again and would not recommend it. Went there based on reviews. Such a disappointment. Ordered a burger touted as so large the would have to wheel me out of there. Decided my husband and I could share that huge burger and an ultimate nacho. The burger came out and was the size of a Five Guys’ little burger. The touted toppings were so sparse they added little flavor to the burger. The small handful of fries were overcooked, shoestring style. This burger and fries cost $10.25 and amounted to less good than a kids meal in most restaurants. The nachos were also a huge disappointment. Served in a metal tray the size of a small pizza or so. Three sparse layers of chips with Rotel dip. That’s right, the kind you make at home for Sunday football games. There was a small amount of dry chicken and a tablespoon or so of lettuce. Nothing else. At $9.95 it was less than half the size of nachos at other restaurants. Overall, we paid $22 after tax to eat with no drinks, and left hungry. This is the most expensive for the portion size food I have ever been served in all of my travels, and I’ve driven and eaten coast to coast in the last two years. On a final note, our hotel told us the restaurant changed ownership a few months back. I only wish I had taken photos to show how sad the food here really is, but what we were served looks nothing like the food on any website or the restaurant’s Facebook page.
I will never eat at Godsey’s again! 11/29/14. Ordered quiche and breakfast potatoes but got a mashed baked potato and a tiny bit of quiche, sent it back and ordered the worst nachos ever made! Took two bites and walked out ! Guess the cooks were hung over. Waitress was friendly.
Best burger in town. Great happy hour, awesome hamburgers and wings!
First visit will be LAST. My first time there will probably be my last. Food took a long time to come and was cool and overcooked. Small portions for price. My cuban sandwich was cool, overcooked and had maybe 5 pieces of small meat on it that were very hard to chew. My whole family dislike it. Waitress played on her phone more than actually being a waitress. Overall a bad experience. Maybe we went on a bad night but not sure if we will ever go back.
