Skinny J’s is a bar and a restaurant in a big space. I sat at the bar and ordered what I figured to be a solid choice, and it was. I had the New York Strip steak with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. It was cooked the way I ordered it and served without a long wait. This appears to be a solid spot in downtown Jonesboro and I would definitely go back.
Swanky roadhouse along Main Street’s corridor filled with wood and neon, easy edibles and pecan fried pies. Those southwestern egg rolls are pretty nifty. tiedyetravels.com
The burgers are very good here (I rank them 2nd place in the Jonesboro burger ranking). The sides are usually really good, but often I think too small. The steaks are good, but on the expense side. If I’m going to spend $30+ on a steak, I’ve rather go to an upscale restaurant instead of the more bar and grill type atmosphere that’s found here. (There’s nothing wrong with the atmosphere here, but it’s not the type of restaurant where I’m comfortable with spending $100 on a meal.) If you stick to the burgers, salads, and sandwiches, the prices are quite reasonable.I’ve always had good service here. The employees are all friendly and attentive, even when busy. It’s a great place to meet with a group of friends for an evening. Try the crab cake appetizer.

Ordered the chicken Alfredo the sauce was flavorful and tasty with sun dried tomatoes.. The chicken on the other hand tasted reheated right out of fridge. As good as the sauce was, it didn’t cover the reheated chicken taste..
I ate there last night, I had the sea bass and it was nicely seasoned, cooked perfectly & the sauce was great. I also had 1/2 dozen raw oysters, they were very fresh and great. I was pleasantly surprised with my experience.
It was good. Not great, but good. I had the fried green tomato sandwich and it was very tasty. The sides were overpriced for what you received. Service was adequate. I might come here again. Had a nice meal.
