Fish and Chips at Bonefish Grill. Bonefish Grill is one of my favorite restaurants, so a recent trip there last week was somewhat disappointing. There were three of us, and we all ordered the same thing – fish and chips.The service and food are typically first rate, and our server did not disappoint this time, either.But the fish and chips were less than first rate – the fish had a rather earthy taste, and the batter seemed greasier than usual. Usually, the fish is flaky and well cooked, but something was different this time.The french fries usually have a golden brown appearance, but it appears that the chain has changed vendors. I felt that my fries were less than done, and sent them back. When I got them back, they still tasted undercooked and seemed white in appearance.In spite of this, the service was first rate, and I want to emphasize that this is the only time we have ever been less than happy with the quality of the food. I hope this was just a temporary glitch.
Last night was the first bad meal we had ever had at Bonefish. My husband’s fish was swimming in grease and more would ooze out when he started cutting it. My lobster bisque soup tasted like tomato soup with lobster juice in it, no chunks of lobster. Hooe it was just a bad night.
Slimey scallops..bang bang shrimp wonderful. Great service. Friendly service. The store is very clean. Bill was corect. Bang bang shrimp wonderful. Crabcakes wondferful. Anglers steak perfectly cooked and tasted great. Stay away from scallops with shrimp. Scallops slimey with no seasoning. Shrimp strange flavor with no seasoning dumped on top of scallops. Mushroom ravioli had nooooo sauce nooo seasoning…tasted like gym socks.
Not so good fish tacos. Been here a few times and loved it until the last time… ordered fish tacos, which were expensive, and they were disgusting! Dripping with grease and not bettered at all! I was expecting small chunks of battered fried fish, instead I got one plain huge piece of fish covered in grease. All three tacos were this way… I took two bites and just ate the rest of the appetizer and salad.
Fantastic food and great service!. We ate on Sunday for a late lunch and had the Bang Bang Shrimp and crab cakes for the appetizers (to DIE for!) and I had the Tilapia Imperial (it was stuffed with shrimp, calamari and scallops with a creamy sauce) and it was fabulous, the potatoes au gratin was the best I had ever had in my entire life and the broccoli was steamed perfectly. Our server was very friendly and very helpful. The menu is pricey, but the food, atmosphere and service were impeccable, worth every penny. I will be going back.
Great Choice. I’ve been on numerous occasions. Always have a great experience. Bang Bang Shrimp and crab cakes are wonderful. The fish and steaks are always cooked and seasoned great. One of my favorite spots in Little Rock
