Not Impressive, Slow Service. My husband and I came here Saturday for the first time. There was only one lady working the front, and she got very backed up. We probably ended up waiting about 10 minutes, even though we were third in line. Seems like they’re under-staffed. We ordered a chocolate fudge, chocolate with cream cheese icing, and a caramel pecan cupcake. While the cakes were moist and icing not overpowering, there was nothing special about them. Standard chocolate/ yellow cakes that I could make from a box and basic icings. The same cream cheese icing was used for the chocolate and caramel pecan cupcake, just with caramel drizzle and a few pecans added for the latter. The products were not worth the bakeshop premium price attached to them.
Best Desserts Hands Down!!!. I go to Brown Sugar Bakeshop often and I absolutely love the desserts. My favorite is the Turtle pie. The shop is competitively price with other cupcake shops in Little Rock. The service is good. I notice that sometimes there are a lot of customers that drown the restaurant at once, so sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes for service. But the service is always good, and I always get what I ask for. The owners are nice and are doing their very best to provide Little Rock with a quality Dessert Parlor!!BRAVO BSB!!!
Best cupcake shop in town. Hands down. I participated in a blind taste test of little rocks different cupcake shops and this one won by a long shot. The best icing and the most moist cakes with fun original flavors.
The owners here have very poor customer service! I attempted to use my husbands debit card here today (as I have seen other co workers do) and was turned down. I have been a very loyal and faithful customer to this establishment for some time now. My office places orders every friday and a lot of the time , once or twice during the week. With todays incident, I called to complain to the owner and inform her that if they are going to have a so called policy, it needed to be consistantly enforced, however I was met with a seriously bad attitude from her. She wouldn’t let me speak, she kept speaking over me, and just had a very rude attitude. I was informed that this policy is in effect so they can keep costs down, however, there were brand new signs posted with higher prices. I will NOT be visiting this establishment again! And with that, a lot of the business they got from my office will go as well because I was the one who went to pick it up! Maybe BSB should really consider a course in customer service!
I enjoyed the cupcakes but was underwhelmed for the price, esp. as a budding baker myself. I follow them on Facebook and the pictures they post make you drool. I enjoyed the red velvet cupcake I bought but the banana pudding cupcake had a frosting obviously made with a lot of crisco (as most bakeries use nowadays) but I personally don’t care for the mouth feel. The chocolate cupcake was not chocolatey enough for me as a chocoholic and was a teeny bit dry. I really really want to love this bakery and support it regularly but they have to work on more pleasant customer service, consistent communication (answer the phone!) are constantly out of the specialty flavors I want after making a 45 minute trip to get there.
CupCakes on Kavanaugh. I have visited this restaurant for the last time; unfortunately the quality of the product is not up to par with the cost of what they ask for cupcakes. This is truly a mom and pops like backwoods spot, Cupcakes are miniature most times, certainly something that can be done at home. And when I find that I am eating a cup cake that is as hard as a rock, the question i ask myself is how long did that cup cake have to sit to become so hard. 2 days, 3 day, 4? I was told about these cupcakes by coworkers and because I am not too far away I have gone in to get cupcakes for my wife. I have found that I have to request certain cupcakes because they are nowhere close to the same quality of others, usually there are no plain regular cupcakes with vanilla icing, which is a crazy because that would seem to be the most popular type of cupcake, so I guess the question is how, or why would you run out of that type of cupcake. I’ve found that the Cupcakes on Kavanagh, and cupcakes on the ridge, make much more impressive cupcakes, all of them looking very similar in quality and in the makeup of the way they are iced. These things are important to me as a customer due to paying as much as is asked for Cupcakes of this nature. Just FYI.
Had a great cupcake. I stopped by on Saturday, when leaving the Food Truck Festival, and ordered a strawberry cupcake (with cream topping.) The cashier was pleasant to work with and the cupcake was very tasty. It was moist, had a lot of strawberry flavor to it, and the topping was just-right. I am happy to find such a place which is close to my office. I plan to go back in the future. Hopefully I won’t run into any of the problems mentioned in other reviews.
