Awesome lunch spot and I imagine dinner spot as well! The tamale is top notch definitely the best in West Little Rock. I had their BLT and a cup of chili which was also very good. A nice patio for those mild spring days and cold brews in a mug. Will definitely be back.
This cute sprawling restaurant on Little Rock’s west side is a family reunion, working folks meet-for-lunch sort of place. The menu is widely varied, with some okay burgers and decent pizza. Pastas? Sure. Sandwiches? A lot of them. And then there’s the One Big Tamale, which could be an appetizer course all in itself. Add in the outstanding hand-selected teas, and you have a pretty good spot to stop during your forays out Highway 10. tiedyetravels.com
Favorite restaurant in little rock. Have yet to order something I didn’t like and staff if always friendly
Mediocre would be a compliment. Went there with my wife recently. We were both disappointed. Most everything tasted like it came from a box or freezer — nothing tasted like it was made from scratch special. She had a pasta dish, I had the supposedly famous tamales. Was that canned chili on top? With velveta-rotel queso? Really? The only outstanding part of our meal was a hummus appetizer. The service was very prompt and friendly, however. I do have to give them all credit for their smiles and service. But I don’t go out to dine on smiles. So many other people are raving about this place… did we just hit them on a bad night? Oh well. We’re crossing this one off our list. Too many other places to dine.
Consistently good food. Don’t miss out on the amazing tea selection. I love their jasmine tea pearls with honey. Salads are fresh and the salmon is always a great addition. Tamales are fantastic as well. I haven’t tried their pizzas or hamburgers because I like mostly healthier options. With that in mind, the vegetarian black bean soup is excellent and you don’t have to order it ahead if you are picking it up to go. I also indulged in their strawberry shortcake recently with fruit grown in AR. The cake was actually a from scratch shortcake cookie. Buttery, crunchy and a wonderful compliment to the premium ice cream.
I love the atmosphere of Izzy’s; it’s very family friendly and comfortable! The Grilled Cheese is my all-time favorite item, but I’ve never had anything bad!
Always good. John and I went to Izzy’s on Saturday afternoon late – 2ish or so. I had a hankerin for tamales and Izzy’s IZ the place for tamales. They were so good! I forgot they put chili on them so next time I’ll ask for it on the side. It kinda masked the tamales but were really good anyway. A couple of Dos Equis and we were happy campers! Love some Izzy’s!
