Best margarita Best tortilla soup. Beware of the mucho grande margarita, it is bigger than your head. Each senor tequila is different, my favorite is the one on rodney parham, they make the best tamales and I will actually drive all the way over there from downtown for one.
Totally forgettable. Not bad, just plain. I would not make any special effort to eat there.
I’ve been there a few times and twice when my friends and I paid we no longer got drink refills and got nasty looks for just sitting there and talking. The last time we went (and will be the last time I ever go back) after we paid and sat talking, with no drink refills, our waiter had another waiter ask us if we paid our checks. He couldn’t even ask us. Luckily we all kept our receipts. None of us are ever going back to that one.
Good Food, Incredibly Fast Service.. In terms of food quality/taste, I believe this to be the superior location, although portion size is smaller than some of the other Senor Tequila locations. The decor is unlike most Senor Tequila restaurants. It is pretty upscale looking, especially for ST. We have been coming here for years. We used to go at least once a week, until burn out ultimately set in. This location used to be a real gem, until it was discovered by everyone else, namely soccer moms adorning workout gear, or bedecked in tennis skirts, accompanied by their spawn, who show up to the restaurant immediately post-athletic competitions, still attired in an excessive amount of protective sports equipment, and their grubby uniforms that are sponsored by local businesses. They are allowed to run amok around the restaurant, obviously under the influence of Adderall, or such other medication, making as much noise as humanely possible. If it isn’t the spoiled, ADHD kids and their financially-privileged parental figures, it is the table of 12 adults that has at least one individual (generally more) in the party that can’t handle his/her liquor, and commences to telling ridiculous stories at the top of his/her lungs, with an absence of respect for other diners around him/her. This is the reason that my wife and I don’t frequent this place as much as we used to, and this is unfortunate, because the food and service are consistently good. Casa Manana, another favorite Mexican spot, is also much closer to our house. The salsa and chips are the best in town, in my opinion. Salsa Verde is also good, and very spicy. My wife is in love with the cheese dip. I normally get fajitas or Chile Colorado, but have had many other menu items, and most are great. I love the refried beans and rice. I could almost make a meal out of that combo. Seasoning is hit or miss; I have had some problems with under-seasoning in the past, as food is sometimes bland. I love their margaritas, and usually indulge in at least two when we visit. Can’t go wrong with the grande beers, either.Service is the fastest of any restaurant to which I’ve been. EVER. I am referring to both this location and Rodney Parham. Lightning fast service. I am usually not finished eating chips and salsa when the food arrives. Usually, the orders come out right. Waiters are very friendly, and I always leave them good tips.If you haven’t been to Senor Tequila, you should definitely give it a try. One of the best Mexican places in LR. Very good meals that are reasonably priced, and blindingly rapid service.
Chili Verde. Slow cooked pork with jalapeno, peppers, onions, chicken broth, and tomatillos.
Good Mexican Food. They have a burrito, the California Burrito, that is really good. A notch above the typical Mexican restaurant. Service is consistently good and prices are reasonable.
I celebrated my 21st birthday here with a few friends. I can only speak of their margaritas; I had to be carried to bed and I was asleep by 11. They are STRONG! Friendly staff, great service. Kind of the upper middle, lower upper class Mexican restaurant. Dress like you’re on a date.
