Having dined twice at this newly opened gem in the Frederica, I am hopeful for the future of Little Rock eateries. Offering foods I cut my teeth on, while providing a comfortable environment, TAE (True Arkansas Eatery) is what Ive been anticipating for a long time. In this common era of eating bland, heart-heathy unseasoned food, I had given up hope of ever eating a meal without bringing my own salt lick to make food more palatable. My first bite of the purple hull peas proved that any self respecting chef stands firm and cooks the way God intended. This is opening week so this review may improve a lot over the next few weeks. Inside the newly renovated Fredricka Hotel in downtown LR, it is nicely decorated and clean. The salad was decent size but forgettable. The mashed potatoes and gravy were ok. The red sauce on the meatloaf was tasty and the meat seasoned well.I watched the table next to me order and received a large plate of food, so not sure why the inconsistency. When I was done it had to be al least 15-20 minutes to pay while there were people standing and waiting to be seated. The table next to me waited a long time as well.Hopefully the can work out the bugs…
