I’ve been to Abuelos many times and I have never been let down. Great food and great service. I particularly like the Seared Tuna appetizer and their Fajitas are amazing. They also have a full bar.
YUM!!! My three favorite things here are the avocado cream (I could roll in it!) the chile rellenos and the Chicken Fajita salad. They have great waitstaff, it’s always clean, even though it’s very busy you are seated and waited on immediately and the food’s great. Did I mention the avocado cream is beyond fantastic? LOL you need to try it. The prices are pretty typical for this type of restaurant. Expect to pay apx 15-20 per person unless you are drinking alcohol.
The jalapeno fritters may seem like a good idea, but for those with weak stomachs, you will pay for your sins later. Decent Tex-Mex fare with a lot of sauce on everything. Pretty good bar service, too. tiedyetravels.com
Not impressed with the food or drinks at this place. Drinks are very overpriced for the amount and quality that you get. The grande sangria swirl tasted great, but I was expecting a bigger serving for a grande drink priced over ten dollars. The food was bland and left us feeling bloated and we regretted even eating any of it to begin with. The only redeeming factor was trio of salsas that arrived with the chips. Also, the server did a good job.
Love It. We went for lunch. I skipped the lunch specials and I had the creamy guacamole filled crepes with shrimp and scallops that was in a wine sauce with fresh spinach and red and green bell peppers. It was very good but it could use more scallops as I saw only 2 in the whole dish. There was enough shrimp but not loaded with shrimp. It comes with mixed vegetables and rice which I substituted with potatoes as I’m so tired of the same ol’ refried beans and rice. Lunch specials are cheap but the rest of the menu can be affordable to a little pricey for my budget. Waiter was very friendly, attentive, efficient without being intrusive or overbearing so there was no problem with service. Also, I like that you can pay your check at the table kiosk. And for those who think crepes don’t belong in a Mexican restaurant, the French did invade and briefly occupy Mexico during our Civil War and left a small culinary influence in Mexican cuisine. I for one would like to see more creative dishes that are not the same thing you get at nearly every Mexican restaurant. And this place has that.
Just incredible!. I’ve eaten here before. Thought it was ok. Went there today and it was absolutely Amazing! I had the enchiladas. One pork. One beef and cheese. The fillings. pork and beef were so loaded with the most tender, tasty moist meat!! The sauces were so good too! Loved those potatoes and the beans! Three kinds of salsa dip! Nice light crispy chips! It was the best meal I ever had there!!
Wonderful experience. My mother and I tried out Abuelo’s for lunch recently. Service and food were both excellent. Our waiter shared his recommendation for mixing the three salsas together, and even brought us extra salsa verde when he heard us rave about it, as well as a spicier habanero salsa. He even sent the manager to our table to welcome us to Rogers after hearing we had just moved here recently! I ordered the pescado guerrero and I think it was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. I could dream about it. My mom had their tortilla soup and the avocado cream and enjoyed them both. They have a huge menu from traditional Mexican to tex mex to their own spin on things. Will return, and often!
