(3.5) Of the three major Italian chains Johnny Carinos falls squarely in the middle for me. The food quality may not measure up to Carrabbas but neither do the prices that are more in line with Olive Garden. I like their spicy additions, it livens up what otherwise can be a bit dull menu. The fresh bread was decent and the dipping sauce we had was tasty but the olive oil needed more herbs to make it work. Our server was great thou my dining partners were quick to point out that he was an exception. The atmosphere didnt exactly take me to Sicily but its in line with most fast casual chains. Theres better Italian to be found nearby but for a quick workday lunch it fits a niche.
I got the angelhair with Artichokes which will now be known as dead sea noodles. It was cold, overcooked pasta, old canned olive, capers, and artichokes. It was so salty it burned my mouth. They offered to remake it after everyone else was done and I just wanted to leave. I had to pay for it despite only eating two bites.
I recall several years ago this being a great place to eat with good food and good service. Me and my wife used to eat here before we got married and we enjoyed the memories of eating here. However, this place is being managed into the ground. We came in tonight, we had to wait 25 minutes to get seated (even though the restaurant was mostly empty) and once we got our table, we received almost no service. We actually left before receiving any food. I wont come back here, I wont spend money on a place that doesnt care about serving their customers.
Very nice spot for some Italian pasta. I like the sauce because it is heartier than most place with a little heat to it. The bread is delicious with plenty of dipping sauce and try their Italian sodas, nice.
By far some of the best Italian food in this area. I absolutely LOVE their bow tie festival and their Italian nachos are off the charts! I know it’s a chain restaurant but it is so worth it.
They are insensitive ttowards vegetarians. Though we said very clearly no meat on our food. There was bacon in the potato soup n minestrone soup too. Appetizers were good. Did not like the main course vegetarian options either. Poor service, therd was residue in in the plate they served.
Ashley was a great server good job.
