Great flavors from Southern India permeate every dish I’ve tried at Chennai Cafe. The lunch buffet is a good place to start investigating the offerings but to truly experience Chennai at their best you’ll need to order off the menu at diner. We entered the restaurant after 7 on a Sunday. I was happy they were open as many other locally owned places were not. Most of the dinners were of Indian decent, usually a very good sign at an ethnic restaurant, and it proved to be here. From our tasty appetizer of Chicken Lollypops to the great garlic naan things were shaping up to be an epic Indian experience. The main entrees did not disappoint. The fish curry was spicy and full of flavor. The coconut rice was in a word, amazing! This was among the best rice dishes I’ve ever had with a toasted coconut flavor I loved. The tandoori chicken is terrific, juicy with a nice kick. The service was very good with our servers being friendly and helpful. If you are a fan of Indian food this is a must try. Haven’t tried Indian or didn’t have a good experience before? Try the noon buffet and you might discover a new favorite cuisine.
Amazing food. Very authentic South Indian food. They don’t fake it by Americanizing Indian foods like most of the Indian Restaurants in USA.Wide spread of items(both Veg and Non-veg). People those who love and have knowledge about South Indian would definitely stop by, enjoy food and appreciate the quality and quantity for very reasonable price.
This restaurant serves excellent South Indian food. It is affordable and tastes like something you would actually eat in Chennai. They serve the best biryani I’ve had in Arkansas.
This is an excellent South Indian restaurant. The flavors are authentic and I am happy to have found my dosa spot! I didn’t think I would in NWA– I am so happy to be wrong. I highly recommend ordering the masala dosa—- it’s basically a large Indian crispy crepe with a delicious potato filling.
Best restaurant, best food, best service.. We usually eat there on weekends. The food is awesome and service too. Except for chicken chettinad and gulab jamuns I love every dishe here. Butter Naans and kothu parathas are nice to have with any gravy. Also must have a cup of Madras coffee at the end… I am sure you would love it.. 🙂
We had an amazing experience at the lunch buffet! There is no question this is now my #1 choice for Indian food in NWA. This place should be packed every day.
Excellent food!!!. I heard that the entre is much better than the buffet, so that’s what we did. We went for a Friday dinner. And it was absolutely worth it. We ordered Egg Kothu Parotha, Egg Burma Paratha, Egg biryani. Every dish being truly brilliant, bursting with those road stall flavors. Loved it. I’ll surely recommend to try this plate out. Waiting for the desserts now. 🙂
