My family and I go to both this and the Moberly location and its absolutely out standing every time. The ribs are hard to beat and you can never go wrong with any of the burgers. For the amount of food you get it is an absolute STEAL!!
Been here a couple of times now for take out. Food has been great, and has been ready when they said it would be. The ribs are really good. Not exactly fall off the bone tender, but tender enough and just the right amount of chew. Sides have been good and the sauce is really good. Definitely worth checking out if new to the area, or a return visit if you’ve been before. I’ll be going back.
Very consistent food. Service is usually good. I’ve been through the menu 2-3 times and enjoy it all. My children enjoy the food too which is a great compliment. Good for a meeting, date, or quick dinner or lunch. BGS
Excellent grub after a day on Beaver Lake! Our only problem was that there were so many delicious sounding items on the menu it was hard to choose. Brisket, french dip, sweet potato fries and fried okra were all outstanding. Friendly, attentive service- we’ll be back.
POOR service. NOTE:Johnny, the owner did email me to apologize and offer a gift card because of my bad experience. this does help some with the poor customer service part.I stop from time to time, when on that side of town (Rogers, Poplar) to get a bite.Yesterday evening, just before 5:00 (receipt read 4:55 for when I paid), I stopped by for what I thought would be a quick stop to grab a to go dinner for the family. You were very busy and I accepted the fact that there would likely be a bit of a delay.Granted, my order could have been confusing since I ordered: 2, 3 meat plates, one with 2 sliced briskets and a turkey, one with 2 pulled porks and a turkey. What happened is a great story of how to lose a customer due to poor customer service.Long story short:1) 43 minutes later, I got my food, I watched several (5-6?) people who came in after me for to go orders get their food before me.2) I watched and heard the staff, look at and count my order several times, trying to get it right. They even called over the lady who appeared to be in charge to help.3) At no time during the 43 minutes I waited on my order did anyone check in with me to explain or apologize for the delay or offer a drink or anything.4) When I finally got my order, the young lady who was taking care of my order apologized profusely for the delay, the slightly older lady in charge never acknowledge the delay or offered a drink or a discount on a future meal or anything to try to do some customer service for the extended delay.5) Since at least 3 people checked my order a number of times (confused because of the double meats?), and because I was highly irritated and just wanted to leave, I did not double check the order before I left.6) After getting home I discovered that not only was the order wrong (ordered a total of 2 each, brisket, turkey, pulled pork, received 1 brisket, 2 turkey, and 3 pulled pork) they shorted me the extra 6 rolls I had requested and paid for…7) To say I was mad would be an understatement, knowing my state of mind at the moment I refrained from calling because I did not want to blow up at the poor individual who answered the phone. This is the perfect example of poor customer service and how to lose a customer and get poor reviews,,,
Committed cardinal sin of restaurants!. It really ticks me off when you brag about a restaurant to some, then you take them and the experience is horrible. I will never recommend Smokin Joes to anyone again. I might eat there again because I love their food most of the time but I will NEVER go to the old location down in Rogers. It was the worst service I ever received from any restaurant. And I bet if you showed this review to the people that work there, they would know which waitress we got.
Not bad for the price. Lots of options on menu. I’m kinda on the fence on this place. The food was good, not great, lots of options on menu. Don’t think it’s a place I MUST trying again anytime soon, but would go back one day. It’s reminds me of a run of the mill BBQ place. If I was going to give it a grade, it would be a B-
