I want to like Blu Fin. I can remember when it first opened in the late 2000s, it was a popular little place. I really enjoy the atmosphere and even it’s odd location. I came in there tonight, at 7:00 on a Friday, and there was two tables there. I was ordering something to go. I picked the Sushi Deluxe which has 9 pieces of nigiri and a tuna roll (I subbed for a California roll at no extra cost). First off, this combination platter is $5.00 cheaper at Sushi House in Bentonville (the best sushi restaurant in NWA). Secondly, when I got home, I discovered they didn’t give me soy sauce. What sushi restaurant doesn’t give you to-go sauce?! The sad part – there was even small cups placed in the bag which is where I think I was supposed to squeeze my little packets into. The sushi was no bueno. The rice was hard (you could tell, not fresh) and barely sticky. I couldn’t keep the fish on the nigiri without the rice crumbling underneath it. The salmon and tuna pieces tasted fish-ier than I would’ve liked. The California roll was dry (I don’t think soy could’ve saved it). Sadly, I won’t be back. Sushi House all the way!
Blufin is not a good restaurant. I took my girlfriend here on Valentine’s Day and it was a complete disappointment. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was chewy like bubble gum. I had the most repulsive sushi I’ve ever had, and she had bland shrimp. We also had fried ice cream, which was bad. The ambiance of the restaurant was pathetic. They literally had Valentine’s Day balloons attached to each table. It’s no surprise this restaurant was less than half full on one of the biggest days of business in this industry. If you want seafood or sushi, do yourself a favor and go to Meiji or Shogun. And if you are looking for fine dining, don’t go here.

Service was terrible. The calamari was under cooked and doughy. My entree came out 15 minutes before my guests entree by the time I ate it was cold. I will definitely not go back.
Always Good. I go here every time I’m in the area and have never had a bad meal. The spider roll and the highland roll are both awesome. I’ve tried almost every roll on the menu and haven’t had a bad one yet!
Not the Sushi You’re Looking For. I ate here on a Friday night because it was a convenient location to meet a friend. I should have known by the size of the crowd there (us and one other table on FRIDAY night!) that this was not the place to get sushi. It was about as good as the sushi you get from a decent grocery store. Nothing seemed that fresh. I am guessing they make the rolls ahead and dress them as they are ordered. The two guys working that night did not seem to be trained well. I ordered a nigiri and got a large slab of blunt-cut fish that was too large for that type of sushi. Go eat sushi elsewhere. You’re wasting your money here.
