TWO hot dogs on this chili dog!21 Nov, 2014Nice little gem. Went last Saturday on recommendation of a friend. Walked in and immediately liked the place, with the well-worn familiarity of downtown diners across America. Our server was very nice and seated us at the front window. They had a special on chili cheese dogs so I ordered that and, since a hot dog is not all that huge, I ordered the cheese and fruit plate. It came out with several kinds of cheese (thick slices, too), pineapple, apple, grapes, strawberries, and kiwi, plus a couple of their house specialty orange rolls. The two of us finished that off, then my chili dog with fries came out! What I didn’t know was that it was TWO good-sized hot dogs, split and grilled, then each placed on top of half a toasted hoagie bun. On top of that was chili with onions, jalapeo and cheese. The fries on the side were steak fries done just right. Well, I couldn’t quite finish it all, not because I didn’t want to, but because I was stuffed. Got chocolate pecan pie to eat later and it was great! Good eats!

Yum. I haven’t tried a great variety here, but I love the Oriental Chicken Salad and their Chicken Tenders & Home Cut Fries. The apricot horseradish sauce they serve with the chicken tenders is fantastic (and I’ve taken to replicating it at home!), you should give it a shot. The perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The service is friendly, though the prices are a little high. It does take a little while to get your order, but it’s worth the wait.
