Great Food and Fun Times. After moving back from TX to LR, this place was so much fun to go to and had never been there before. I made so many new friends, and told so many high school and college friends about it! Plus, the fact that I loved giving the owner grief in a good way! Great memories!!!
I like it… but…. Khalil’s has some great ideas on food, and it’s usually consistent. However, because it’s primarily a bar and allows smoking, the facility has been chopped into tiny glassed-off sections, and the non-smoking area has been ignored. tiedyetravels.com
Scam. Here is my story about this place. Went in, hardly anyone there .. My group ordered drinks and dinners. An hour later, no food. We asked the waitress and we were told it would be another 45 min to an hour. I told her we were out of there. She sent the manager over, and suddenly our food appeared in less than 5 min. Food was tepidly warm, clearly had been waiting a while. Just a big scam to get you to order more drinks. NEVER going there again.
Owner is unbelievable rude!! Avoid this place at all costs!!!!!!. I would not recommend anybody coming here. I went there on a Saturday night for late dinner and enjoy the karaoke in the bar as well as the music on the dance floor in the restaurant area. The waiter was very friendly but the food is mediocre and the owner was downright rude. The owner thinks it is a crime for people( particularly young black people) to be on the dance floor in the restaurant area. I couldn’t believe how he approach me in my personal space stating that he saw me wandering around the dance floor thru his security camera and that I need to remain at the bar area if I want to stay at his business. If you don’t want people looking at the dance floor, then why do you have music and lighting effects in the restaurant area. Overall, I would avoid this place and go to West End or other bars around town because this a**hole don’t deserve to stay in business.
I was originally taken with the place… It was what a bar should be, a bit rugged and cluttered, so my issue isnt anything like the other complaints, but you must hear this one: Having enjoied the place a great deal on a previous occasion, I am told at the door on my second visit that we have to pay cover… I ask what the cover, well, covers. The guy explains that its for live music. I look into the bar, no musician. He explains it will be arriving in a minute. Me and the other. 12-15 people in the place sit and chill for about an hour at which point we all think we were con- ed by someone who doesnt work there into giving him $5 each… Ha. Ha. Me and the three members of my crew go back to the host station to see the same guy still there and explain; no music, no cover. We bought our food and drinks, we are leaving now and the $20 it cost us to get in was just not right… YOU DIDNT DELIVER. He says no refund, I ask to see a manager, the kitchen manager comes out and backs up his guy. No refund. I travel to little rock often, and have many friends who do as well and even though its a neat bar with a decent beer list, I cant give them my money or my friends’ after that experience.
I Love This Place….. But I don’t know why! The place is dark, smoky and very old looking…BUT…the wait staff is UNREAL…We always get great service and I always have a good time. It is one of those places that you keep finding yourself at and your like, why am I hear again??? But you are there again and you usually will have a good time.
