It’s not your parents’ Acapulco any more (thank goodness!). New owners opened up the bar area by installing a window to the kitchen. Food is fresh, with high-quality ingredients and a chef who does a great job with traditional as well as creative mexican dishes. Service can be great or sometimes just OK (thus 4 stars instead of 5) – depending on the server. Bar area is smallish, but a nice neighborhood place with quite a few regulars.

A Favorite for 30+ Years. I first came here in 8th grade back in 1976 and must say I still love this place. I come at least once a week for lunch. What keeps drawing me back, is that they have not tried to change into a new wave Mexican restaurant. Its the same as it was years ago, with all the simple ingredients, but with great flavor. I think my favorite thing about the Acapulco; they don’t drown there dishes with cilantro.
In the 60’s and 70’s it could have been considered good.
