I love the out door patio. You really feel like your in a French cafe in Paris. Good Job! Plus their food is fresh and tasty. Not the greasy spoon that the old Tillies use to be. We need more added to the West end of town.18 Jan, 2014Well the breakfast and lunch are Cest Bon but the dinner is Tres Bon. If your thinking of having a nice dinner in Alameds with great ambiance and food check out this place. You will be licking your plates. Amazing steaks and sea food. Make sure you try a desserts.

Wow!. Gotta love this place. Best monte christo sandwich ever. My new favorite is the grilled veggie sandwich. It’s moist with cheese on a yummy baguette.Best potato salad I’ve had in a while. I always plan for a dessert, but am too full to go for it. Maybe today. Taking an out-of-state friend there for lunch. Other friends have raved about the crab eggs Benedict..

Not impressed. I chose a Croque Madam thinking they should do it well, after all, they are going as a french restaurant. Big mistake, The fried egg was buried under a coating of rubber cheese, thus it was overcooked as well. I did not get even a hint of mustard. The bchamel tasted like nothing, and was on the side in a very small ramekin. The potatoes were probably fried a long time before. My husband ordered a crab cake, Mushy and tasting not very fresh. I had high hopes for this place but the decor is the best thing about it.

Yum, Yum, Yum!!!. This is definitely an improvement over the dive that was in their for decades. The food is delicious, pastries superb, servings generous. Wait staff very friendly, a little slow but the place is usually packed. I think they do the best they can.

Well worth the trip. Caf Jolie took over the pace of a favorite hangout for many decades going back before WWII – Millie’s on Webster St. in Alameda. When the Naval Air Station was open, we used to go there after the bars closed after 2 AM for excellent late-night omelets and other breakfast goodies, and the place would be near full with sailors and other military personnel.Last week, after waiting many months to see what was replacing the historic Millie’s, I finally got to try Caf Jolie. They spent a pretty penny making this place visually beautiful. The tile work in the bathrooms alone is worth going to see.The menu is somewhat New Orleans, with that rarest of treats, beignets. They do all their own baking and the pastries are superb. I also had a salmon omelet, with gruyere cheese and capers that was the best salmon omelet I’ve ever tasted. Excellent fresh croissant are a bread choice and the fresh fruit bowl was ripe, varied, and delicious. My friend had another egg dish with potatoes which were amazingly well prepared. I’m not just going back, I’m taking friends to show it off.

Service is really slow. Wait staff is kind of scattered.
