Heard about this restaurant on Check Please Bay Area..it sounded good so decided to drive out to Alameda to try it. We were looking forward to a great meal but found it to be very average. Probably will not take the time to drive out there again.
Wow, either the emperor has no clothes, or ethnic food tastes really differ in the hinterland! i figured the buzz and the drive to quaint little nowhere meant this would be a hidden gem, but great beer list and asian-influenced martinis aside, the food was inauthentic and BLAND. okay, so they were out of the much-touted crab cones, but we ordered everything else, and there wasn’t a taste among the lot. the bistro is cute enough but apparently serves as a bar for locals; loud groups in baseball caps surrounded our table as if they were in a sports bar (one in which we had inexplicably decided to set up a table and dine).
Loved It!. I am a big fan of Asian Fusion when it’s done RIGHT! Dragon Rouge is at the top of the list! Flavor combination are EXCEPTIONAL! I HIGHLY recommend the assorted rolls as well as the bouncing beef! Plus the real bonus points go to half off bottles of wine and sake Tuesday through Thursday! All around a great place!
