My guy and I went in for a date night a little later in the evening and the waiter was incredibly rude because he felt it was too close to closing time. He came to us to take our order as soon as we sat down. We requested more time but he literally kept coming up every two minutes until we ordered. As soon as he took our order he came back to serve our drinks and asked if we wanted anything else because the kitchen was closing. Not a great experience for our first time there. On a positive note-every other person seemed very friendly and it was very cool to get a dessert sake after our meal from a man who appeared to be the owner…good luck if you decide to go there. I hope your experience is better than ours was!!
Best sushi of my life.. I was a little nervous looking at the bombastic, combo-blast-roll-touting menu, but I ended up sharing probably 6(?) rolls with a friend, ranging from some wild creations to oldtimers like california roll. On the simple, awesome ingredients front, they blew me away with literally the best sushi I have ever had in my life. On the super-combo-blast front, most of the rolls turned out to be lush and delicious. It makes me sad to live on the other side of the country.
I have been a long time patron on this restaurant and the food has always been great. The sushi chef are masters of their trade. For a unique taste please try the mackeral with kelp.
Yum. Awesome food. Employees were very friendly. I had teriyaki steak and it was delicious. My friend had sushi and said it was good and portions were big.The owners (?) were very welcoming.
Good stuff. Momma runs a tight ship. Tempura and sake is the ticket.
Not a chain. Great restaurant that local Alameda folks all go to. Food is good, the owner Faith wonders around making sure everyone is taken care of. Beware of the Chinese servers…they tend to be slow and not very receptive. Tell Faith you are a first-timer there, and she will make sure you are well taken care of. Try the Chilean sea bass (yes, it’s not politically correct, but man, it’s tasty!), hamachi-kama (if you are into fish, collar of the yelowtail tuna is out of this planet.), passionroll with tangy sweet sauce. I’m Japanese, and even I’m not offended that this sushi comes with sauces. 😉 Sake sampler is always a good way to get to know sake. In the winter (or maybe they serve it year-long,) try chawanmushi, which is not on the menu. It’s a hot egg custard dish that is very yummy.
