Went there for late lunch with friends after picking them up at Oakland Airport. My wife and I both had the Calamari Steak which was very good. Service was good as well. The decor is old school and I don’t see a real problem with that……but then again I am over 50……..
Meh. I was in the mood for steak so looked this place up. My filet mignon was good, but my fianc’s Sole Almondine and rice pilaf were extremely bland at best. It was kind of sad…this place could be so nice – they have the location…now they just need to work on their food.
Very upset, mad and disappointed. I was at the establishment earlier today and while the food was okay, the service was very unacceptable. After the bills was paid my mother wanted to purchase a cup of java and her waiter treated her very rudely. Then, about a week prior to our reservation and after speaking to someone about employment for my younger brother, after visiting my brother told me that the owner’s husband made some racially unacceptable comments. This I will not tolerate from any human being on the planet and I will never return to the place of business again.
Pier 29 needs CPR. This place is in need of Chef Gordon Ramsey…If your under 40 you may want to skip this place…it caters for the 50+ crowd. The food is just as old…the menu has a fusion of steak and seafood…neither was too enticing…the menu was WAY to big for the needs of this crowd. The price as well doesn’t back up the quality of food…the salad was ill prepped bag of mix greens. The clam chowder tasted like the generic safeway brand. The filet mignon I ate was good…but the mash potatoes and veggies where tasteless. One plus they have a good bar and good location with a view. Please someone call Gordon Ramsey.
