Came here for the first time to support a local charity event. Had the bruschetta app – quite tasty. That’s where the good ended. I had the chicken piccata, essentially flavor free. Non-existent sauce, marinara, penne on the side was bland and just not very good at all. The only positive for the entree were the veggies which were nice. Wife’s pasta was watery and bland, the Gorgonzola sauce was just lost. . Sadly there is no good Italian food in Alameda.

Tomatina’s is a hidden gem! It’s easily one of the best Italian restaurants in the Bay area. It’s worth the drive. Don’t let the humble surroundings fool you. The ambiance and service are friendly. The food is excellent across the board. My favorites are the garlic rolls, mediterranean salad, and the pesto pizza. The flavored will delight youeverything is balanced and perfectly seasoned. Expect a short wait; but it moves quickly. Easily 5 stars!
Great atmosphere, great service. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Alamada. I’d recommend the pizza and the lasagna as well as the garlic rolls for appetizers. Location is great for walking around after lunch or dinner too!
