Been here a month ago and one of those good places you want to visit again if you are in the area! I understood this place is well known for its Gujarati Thali and so I decided to have one. The Thali comes with a serving of freshly cut tomato, cilantro, and onion, papad (crispies), puri, chapati, pakoras, dhokla, kadi, dal (kadi and dal was a little sweet for me) and a vegetarian curry. They also served rice pulao, and butter milk. For dessert they have a wide variety including shrikhand, gajar ka halwaI, gulab jamun, and besan halwa. I tried shrikhand and it was amazing. I understand these are all served unlimited if you have the appetite except the dessert. All the items were fresh and nicely prepared, not spicy, and were served by some very hospitable staff. My favourites were the pakoras, pulao, and shrikhand, although all the items tasted well. Must visit on an early brunch/breakfast free tummy if you are around.
I went to Rajdhani because I heard from a lot of my Indian friends that this place is worth visiting if you are in LA and want to have some awesome Gujarati food. I took there advice and went to Rajdhani for dinner. Hospitality: The Nepali looking was not skilled in the hospitality and did not at all knew how to assign seating to the guests. The lady who was at the cashier counter seemed to be manager of that place and did not bothered to go to each table to know if everything was okay with the food. And I am not assuming anything but she gave this racist look. Kudos to your hospitality guys (Pun intended). (1/5)Food: All the food had very less salt. Pathetic taste for a Gujarati Thali. Undhiyu (mixed vegetable) was oily and the buttermilk was so thin. Rest of all the food was okay but did not have that Indian taste. Menu lacks a variety of items that usually a good Gujarati dish has like Bhakhri (wheat bread), Bajre ki Roti (millet bread), Rigan no Odo (Eggplant curry), etc. Quality is not worth for the money you pay (1/5)Ambiance: This place is busy because a lot of Indian people come here after a busy day of shopping and they hardly have a choice when they are vegetarians (like me), vegans, Jains, etc. They have an extra row of table that makes this place a little congested. (1/5)In Summary, I would not recommend this place at all (until they wish to improve). about.me
I am updating my review as i had a really bad experience at Rajdhani. Me and bunch of my friends went for lunch this Sunday(03/25/18) and while i was having my dinner i found hair in my roti. The more disgraceful thing was that they acted really normal and acted in a way that it happens really often. I am surprised that a big entity like this is not able to maintain the standard of the food and the manager didn’t even bothered to apologize for the mistake. They gave us the bill and charged for the food with the hair. Not visiting this place ever again and i can’t stop anyone but i would request you to boycott a place like this which doesn’t value their customer.
A MUST-VISIT for true Indian food lovers and ESPECIALLY Gujarati food lovers. The quantity of food in the thalis is, no doubt, unlimited owing to the nature of a regular thali but what is of importance is the great quality of food that this restaurant serves! Each day has a different menu and never will you see such tasty and authentic food in any other ‘thali’ restaurant for miles and miles! It is my highlight to visit this place whenever I travel to Artesia and it definitely is one of the main, if not only, reason for me to visit that city. The service is great, too. P.S Do not forget to try the Aam Ras and the Gulab Jamun over there. Utterly amazing!
Awesome Gujju Food. Love this place, a must visit for all vegetarians. The wait is usually very long, so i would suggest going a little early. Love going there and eating some yummy Gujju thali
Great Thali. I’m still learning about Indian Food and Rajdhani was a good lesson. Located in the heart of Little India, the restaurant’s decor is tasteful with excellent vegetarian food and a unique food experience. They bring the buffet to you! In a sort of dim sum cart style, the waiters stop by with dishes to inquire if you’d like some or seconds or thirds. A walk around the colorful shopping district is called for after overeating here.
Great authentic Gujarati food the way Gujarati food is usually served at home. It’s a buffet style, except the food comes to your table. Very flavorful food and great selection.
