Love the food here. I have eaten indian food in many different states but this by far is the best cuisine I have eaten. The tandoori chicken is wonderful crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The gulab jamun is excellent here out ranking any down the strip in Little India. You must all try the lunch buffet it comes with nan and dosas unlimited which go well with the currys. If in Artesia make sure you stop in.
Good Indian buffet. Dropped by woodlands this past weekend to have lunch with a couple college friends that i have not seen since graduation.first off, the service at the woodlands is actually quite good. i’ve been to a handful of indian restaurants in and around LA and for the most part, service (especially during the buffet lunch service) has been…for a lack of better words……lacking.i arrived 15mins early and walked in and was greeted warmly by a server. a couple minutes later, the manager/proprietress(?) came by and greeted me as i stood by the door waiting for my friends. she insisted that i grab a seat while i waited, however, sunday was such a beautiful day, i declined and told her i would wait outside in the sun.my friends arrived a few minutes later and we grabbed an open 4 top. since we were unsure if we wanted to order off the menu or partake in the lunch bufftet, we asked for menus which were prompted brought over. since i am a buffet whore, i decided on rocking the buffet for $9.99. what a deal!!i have no idea what was in the buffet (i was still kinda hung over from friday night…yes i am getting old) but nearly everything that i had was good. the naan bore a striking resemblance to the chinese green onion pancakes (sans the green onions that is). there were a few appetizer offerings, two soups, a bunch of sauces, three entree items, and each person was also provided with a dosa.throughout the lunch, our plates were taken away promptly and they did not usher us out. we ended up sticking around for two hours chatting and catching up and slowing grazing on the food.good food, excpetional service and good friends. what more can a person ask for?to close things out; for $9.99, you get the lunch buffet, a freshly made dosa and a drink. not too shabby i must say!!
