When I get that craving for home style Italian pasta.. I head straight to Speranza! I used to live across the street, now I drive 20 mins for a bowl of simple deliciousness. Go early, 630pm is best
I have been there 3 times. Great place to gather and open relatively late. I liked this place right away the first time. Food was good and people nice, so I brought friends the second and third time. The food quality downgraded over 1 month period to a high school cafeteria. Wine selection still good. Very disappointed by it since it is around my corner. It is always same story, restaurant gets popular (over popular) and then quality downgrades immediately.
DON’T GO HERE !!. That’s right, I have been going here when it was The Capri. I’ve seen this place sky rocket and now it’s way too hard for me to get a table….The food is really, really good, not too heavy, just right. Really good: cheese plate, beet salad, halibut carpaccio, beef carpaccio, rigatoni bolognese!!Don’t go here!! I want to get a good table.
Cute atmosphere, horrible service
The best! amazing food, atmosphere, and most importantly the people there are wonderful. This is a must!!!!!!
Worth the drive from OC. I have been to Speranza several times and have always had great food from fun staff. Be sure to ask them to save you some special cookies.
Great Outdoor, Casual Italian. After a year in Silverlake I’m sad to move away from this East Side gem. The outdoor seating is fantastic and beats the smaller interior dining room. You can never go wrong with the house pasta (despite a little increase in price) and you can BYOB from Bogie’s Liquor right across the street.
