Super friendly authentic Greek restaurant!! Braised beef over pasta was a little pricy but good and came with a lot of food. Next time I think Ill stick with their gyros.
All I know about Greek food is gyros and things wrapped in grape leaves. I can’t speak to their stuffed grape leaves, but Athena’s gyros are the best I’ve had anywhere. Their pitas are tender and flavorful with well seasoned meat and crisp veggies. They’re topped with a fresh, minty tzatziki sauce. Perfect. And who knew there was such a thing as Greek spaghetti? They have it at Athena’s, and it’s terrific! It has nicely aldente spaghetti noodles topped with a slightly sweet bolognese made with ground lamb. Very nice! Oh, and do NOT leave without a dessert! I recommend the baklava ala mode.
Decent, pricey…. The space is small. The food is alright. The price is incredibly high. Won’t be going back.
Call ahead and order the Chicago-style Gyros and a Village Salad….and add a slice of the to-die-for Carrot Cake. You’ll be happy you did!
A little pricy but the food is great. I LOVE the Dolmades.i wish it was a permanent menu item not just a special
