Quality is good. Staff is very friendly, but I think the bar is what makes this restaurant stand out. The drinks are top shelf quality, and you’re getting more bang for the buck.
Best in town!. My entire family has been going for many years. The staff treats you like family. The food is always great and fresh…EVERYTHING is delicious. The service is always excellent!! This is the best Don Pericos in town! I love the steak and chicken fajitas! The strawberry margaritas are tasty as well:)
Bad service, mediocre food. The evening didn’t start very well because we couldn’t understand much of anything that our waiter said (and it wasn’t a language-barrier, as one of our party speaks Spanish). After our food was delivered, our waiter virtually abandoned us. We didn’t see him again until we flagged him down about 20 minutes after we had finished eating. Our drinks were never refilled. As for the food: the salsa is too runny. I realize this is personal preference, but I prefer salsa with a pure base, ideally with chunks of fresh tomatoes, onion, garlic and peppers with cilantro and other herbs. All the fresh stuff was in the salsa here, but it was floating in a bowl of water. I ordered a #7 combination, which is an enchilada and and tamale. The tortilla on the enchilada was crunchy on the edges, as if it was old and stale. The tamale did not have nearly enough masa- it was really just a thin layer. The best tamales I’ve had are made with masa that is really the star of the dish- you want more, not less. I have to admit that the pork in the tamale was just right- tender chunks with a flavorful sauce. Lastly, the flan for desert was awful. It had a rubbery texture that required actual chewing. Good flan is soft and silky and melts in your mouth. Overall, very disappointing. I won’t be back.
GREAT FOOD!. I love this place! Great atmosphere, great people, AWESOME food! ALL DON PERICOS RESAURANTS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL! This one towers over the others. You have to try it.
