Eh…. For a chain, they do alright. There is a lot of food on the plate for one’s money. But it try’s to do all kinds of BBQ from the various points of the US. and does it mediocre at best . It a good place for families, and older couples.
Lousy Pork Dinner. Being from the South, I love BBQ, I was at Dave’s in Bakersfield, CA over the weekend, and took dinner. We both ordered the large pork dinner. My pork was nothing more than small chopped scraps of pork, mostly end pieces, and very hard. I mentioned to waitress and the meat was changed… only slightly better. I expected the pork dinner to have slices, or at least larger chopped pieces. Terrible meal… Value for money – Terrible!I may try them one more time for Ribs, but forget the pork scraps. The rest of meal was fine, and the service was good. Dave 8/8/11
Funky & fun, but pricey. I love the BBQ (particularly the baby back ribs). They have a drink called Sweet Mary’s Punch which will put you under the table, but you will enjoy the trip.
Catfish Yo!. The Catfish fingers are the SHIZNIT here yo! Dave’s also has some good beer on tap as well.
Overrated. I agree with the previous review, this place was crowded, loud, and the food was just ok…i haven’t been back
What exactly is the allure of a restaurant decorated like an old roadhouse with old hubcabs nailed to the wall? This place is so overrated. They have a good selection of BBQ sauce. Other than that there is nothing special here. One other note, enough with the obnoxiously loud birthday birthday songs. It really is played out.
