Mozza of Newport Beach. $80 for pizza and beer for 2. Yes it’s true. The pizza Bianca with sausage was good. The crust was the best, and we split. It’s plenty big enough for two people. The Pane Bianco (garlic bread) with Mozza Caprese was my favorite. For desert we split the Bundio ( butterscotch pudding). The best butterscotch pudding I’ve ever had; but it’s still butterscotch not chocolate. The cookies that come with the Bundio are the size of a dime. You get two of them. It would have been a great $35 dinner for two. $80 with tax, tip and parking…a one time experience…even for her birthday!
Freakin delicious. My service was great and my food was awesome. One thing I don’t like about all of Mario’s restaurants (well, the ones that I’ve been too) are the stupid breadsticks wrapped in paper. It tastes like the paper that it’s wrapped in! I’m not surprised that Collonello found hair on his pizza though. I didn’t like that nobody wore gloves while handling any of the food. Is that considered rustic? But anyway, we ordered the bone marrow. Our first time eating it, and it’s heavenly just like everyone says! A little too fatty, but I’d eat it again. I got the coach farm goat cheese pizza, with extra garlic cloves on that, and I have no complaints whatsoever. My husband got whatever pizza has all of the meats on it. That one didn’t taste any different than any other meat lover’s pizza though. He loved it. Get dessert! I got the butterscotch thing that everyone says is a must have. I don’t know about must have, but it was pretty freakin good. My husband got the espresso granita? The alcohol in it was a little overpowering, but still delicious, and it came with chocolate honeycomb, so that’s a big plus in my book.
Great Pizza. I ate dinner at the Newport location last night. Previously, I had eaten at the L.A. location. For me, this is excellent pizza. The crust is superior and the various topping are fresh & favorable. We enjoyed four different pies at our table — no disappointments. We also had a couple of salads, brechetta, and potatoes, all dishes were tasty.Desserts were unique and enjoyable.Service was attentive.
