I greatly enjoyed the Sangria while trying to choose what to have for dinner. I love swordfish and typically order it when I see it on a menu…but I also love cioppino. I went with the cioppino and was not disappointed. The ingredients were very fresh and the broth was perfect, just the right amount of flavors and not too acidic. Typically the mussels are my least favorite of all the seafood in cioppino, but to my surprise they were my favorite tonight! Very tender and mild, almost sweet. This is saying a lot especially considering the grilled ahi in the dish, which was amazing. To top it off I described the kind of red wine I prefer in lay mans terms and Misty opened a bottle not in the menu and brought me a glass. It was exactly what I was looking for.I travel to various cities and rarely eat at the same place twice, but hope to get back to Newport Beach soon!

Once a Week. I love Sol grill. I go about once a week. The owner, Misty, is friendly and will cheer you up any day of the week (except Monday when their closed). The filet meatballs, seafood, and salads are all great and the Sangria is the best in town! Great restaurant with a great atmosphere!TJ

~CD~. Holy cow. This place is a little gem. Went there with Rachel and her family when they visited for Chris moving to california. We were headed to Sharkeez, but it was very crowded so we went to Sol to get some drinks. After looking at the menu, we decided to stay for dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and the best part is that if you go before 7pm on any day of the week, you can get half portions of their normal meals for $10.50. And the half portions are plenty. They have house wine that is cheap, but great. Live music on Sunday nights. Overall an amazing place to go eat and hang out. Limited seating though, not sure if they take reservations.
